Easypix Cyber Scanner Basic Film and Slide Scanner
Easypix Cyber Scanner Basic Film and Slide Scanner

2.0 out of 5 stars Nice as a gadget, but don't expect to much., 15 Nov. 2012
The Easy Pix is actually not a scanner at all, even though the name implies.
The box uses a light source that shines on the negatives or slides, and then takes a picture, not scans, of the image.
The Easypix comes with one 6 35mm negative holder, and one 3 35 slide holder.
While much cheaper, the images still comes out much grainier then with a normal scanner, and the quality depends on the CCD, which in this case is not the best.
Windows 7 recognizes this device as a webcam, and as a result you can't use any regular photo editing program to import the images directly, as you would with a regular scanner.
The software bundled is the Arcsoft most basic utility.
After the initial setup, the software is very easy to use, and very intuitive
The images captured into the program come out darker and grainier then with normal scans, and the software only has the most basic of correction tools, with no batch correction.

Pros:
Price
Good if you want to scan few slides or negatives to the web
Software easy to use
Nice gadget

Cons:
Images not good enough for editing or for re-printing
Not recognized as WIA or Twain, so Windows doesn't work easily with the scanner.
Slide/Negative holder are quite flimsy, and break easily
Software to basic for any good corrections

Pelikan Level L5 rollerball Refill Blue
Pelikan Level L5 rollerball Refill Blue
Offered by MEXXTRONICS
Price: £6.89

5.0 out of 5 stars Great rollerball pen and refill, 10 Nov. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The Pelikan Level 5 pens are great rollerball pens.
The counter weight at the back of the pen causes the pen to rest on your palm, in a fashion that prevents extra stress on the fingers.
The clip of the pen retracts in to the body when the pen is opened, so you do no accidently enter the pen in to your pocket while open.
Even so, this pen might not be suitable for people with slender or small hands.

The refill itself is very comfortable to write with, giving a smooth and constant line, while the ink dries up almost immediately, preventing smears.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blu-ray edition review, 27 Nov. 2010

Many sequels turn out to be less then the beginning of the series. Not so in this movie.
Lots of small humorous moments, great action, and some cutting edge special FX (for the time the movie was made).
By the way - The bad guys finally win... :-)

4.0 out of 5 stars Movie review, 27 Nov. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The first part was a great movie, bringing us a new action movie with great chase scenes, and a plosible scenario. Alas, as with many sequals, the second movie falls short of the first. The plot in the second movie is not believable, and leaves much to be desired, Even the action falls short.

The Brothers Grimm [Blu-ray]
The Brothers Grimm [Blu-ray]
Dvd ~ Petr Ratimec
Offered by Quality Media Supplies Ltd.
Price: £17.99

3.0 out of 5 stars Good story, bad Blu-Ray quality, 24 April 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
An interesting view to the Brothers Grimm fairy tales.
Incorporating many aspects from the fairy tales, the story tells of magic coming to life in an enchanted forest, where young girls are collected for an eclipse, and the return of an evil queen.
Despite the title, the movie itself is not one for children, but rather for teens and adults.
The sound isn't as good as expected, and sounds quite shallow for a movie with this much potential. The surround sound is used for very few sound effects. The speech is relatively low in comparison with the music, and makes the speech hard to understand at times.
The video quality is good, but not as good as expected for a movie with such potential.
Bottom line - Good story, not good enough quality.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good action, Good sound, Not good enough HD, 24 April 2010
This is one of the good action movies, with a fast pace, and a great plot.
The plot in a nutshell - Jason Bourne, finding himself shot and a-float in the Mediterranean sea with no memories, goes looking for answers and finds intrigue and trouble everywhere.
The Blu-Ray version has good sound quality, utilizing the 5.1 DTS for good sound effects. Scenes like the Paris car chase sound much better, with sounds coming from all over. Conversation is a bit shallow in comparison.
Unfortunately, the video quality is less then HD. Picture is a bit grainy, and in fast paced scenes the details get blurred. It's actually ashame that with this kind of movie, with the action it contains, the video hasn't been upgraded and re-mastered in HD.
Upside - Great action, very good sound
Downside - The video is not HD. Buy the DVD, not the Blu-Ray

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Action, Great F/X, 16 April 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
As a player of the original Doom, I liked to see how much of the original was incorporated into the movie.
A downside to the movie itself - not enough first body scenes, like the game.
As the movie has been reviewed previously, I will review the Blu-Ray version.
The Extras were great to watch, even though not enough for a movie with such history and background. I believe much more could have been added, in order to enrich the BD version.
Graphics are great, and beware all those with weak hearts. On a 42" Full-HD TV it looks great. Graphics a very detailed in the BD version, much more then the DVD version.
Sound here has also been upgraded, and every snarl and clanck comes through crystal clear.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good movie, not on Blu-Ray, 16 April 2010

This review is from: Reign Of Fire [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
This review is about the Blu-Ray Disk.
Although the movie was not filmed in High Definition, I still had high hopes for the BD version. Unfortunately, I was disappointed.
The video is grainy, and does not go up to the 1080P. I actually have watched it on 780P TV, and even there I could see the grain quite clearly, and on a 1080P TV, It's even worse.
As for the sound, I have a pioneer receiver with 5.1 system. On most movies the sound is superb. In this case, I am very disappointed. Even though boasting Dolby Digital, the surround sound FX are meager, and the general sound is flat, with no sense of depth. The Bass is low and not felt as with other movies.
I gave this disk 3 stars only due to the movie itself, which I enjoy.
All in all, if you have a receiver with up-scale, buy the DVD, don't spend extra on BD.
