5.0 out of 5 stars GO LARGE!!!, 1 April 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Thought long and hard about upgrading my monitor.Having gone for this 27 incher I am so glad I did. It is a big beast but light enough to move around the desk. All 3 types of conector on the back. If you are undecided between a smaller monitor and this. GO LARGE!!!
The 3d cube on my Linux Mint install looks superb. Well worth the money.

Corsair CH-9000003-UK Vengeance K90 Performance MMO Mechanical Gaming Keyboard (discontinued by manufacturer)
Corsair CH-9000003-UK Vengeance K90 Performance MMO Mechanical Gaming Keyboard (discontinued by manufacturer)

4.0 out of 5 stars Great keyboard but Linux users pleae note..., 9 Mar 2012
The best keyboard I have ever used and well worth the money.

However the G keys can only be programmed using a Windows application. I would have liked this function to be included in the keyboard itself.

If you use Linux the G keys simply don't work.

I don't know why Corsair is so anti-Linux when many Linux system builders buy Corsair Memory.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointed, 4 Mar 2012
Order placed on 26th February. Order still not DISPATCHED by 4th March (day of Christening). Really disappointed as we have had to purchase another card as you can't postpone a Christening. This company is having problems, stay clear until they can get their act together.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great action film, 11 Dec 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Killer Elite [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
Great action film in the mold of Die Hard, Transporter etc. If you like escapist action films this is one for you. Its not a deep story like LaCarre's Tinker Taylor Solder Spy etc, just good fun. Fans of chick-flicks and Hugh Grant stay well clear.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lloyd Cole is back and sounds better than ever!!!, 15 Sep 2010
This review is from: Broken Record (Audio CD)
Lloyd Cole is back with a great band behind him and sounding absolutly superb. I've been a fan for years and I think most would agree his solo work was good but hard to listen to. With Broken Record you can put it on in the background and just listen to it. Its one of those albums that just becomes part of your day (life). Load it on you iPod/ MP3 player, take a holiday and enjoy.

Routing Video Mentor
Routing Video Mentor
by CCNP. Kevin Wallace
Edition: Paperback
Price: £52.92

4.0 out of 5 stars A good instructional DVD but not for brginners, 21 Nov 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Routing Video Mentor (Paperback)
A good DVD if you are studying or working with Cisco Routers, however Kevin Wallace makes the assumption that the viewer has already studied the subject and has a good understanding of IP addressing and the basics of WAN tecnology (eg Frame Relay). The subjects are described with clear examples and realativly straight forward to understand. I would not recommed this if you are new to Cisco and Routing instead try Wendell Odom's CCNA Video Mentor. In fairness the box does say "Covers CCNP" exam topic however I would rate this as between CCNA and CCNP as there is some overlap. Overall this is a good DVD and if you already have some experience of Cisco Routing the examples will be of benefit to your studies.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Book, 10 April 2008
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This book is an excellent guide to inspection and testing. It keeps the theory down to what you need to know to get the job done, without a load of waffle.

The book is full of pictures which are clear and in full colour, showing real electrical installations and how and where to connect test leads. There are also images of testers( Kewtech and Megger) and how to set them up correctly. The author uses a step by step approach and coupled with the photographs you cannot go far wrong.

There are lots of examples of certificates and how to fill them in for example installations. Details of what the values mean and how to calculate/ measure them are also included.

If you are looking for an inspection and testing book I can honestly say buy this one, it is excellent.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent resource for users learning the Linux command line, 13 Jan 2008
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Linux Phrasebook (Paperback)
This is the reference book Linux users have been waiting for. If you have ever struggled with MAN pages then this is for you. Crammed full of examples of commands and how to use them. This book is an absolute bargin for the price and small enough to put in your pocket. One of the few Linux books I use every day, and its well written too. Well worth 5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent with PCLinuxOS2007, 13 Jan 2008
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I have a dual boot system with PCLinuxOS 2007 and Windows XP. I have written files to this drive in XP and read them in Linux and written them in Linux and read them in XP. The transfer time is a little bit slow but I am using USB 1, however I was trasfering 9Gb of data. Over all this has been an excellent purchase and although the file system is FAT 32 I have had no problems reading/writing in Linux. An excellent choice for Linux and Windows users and if you have a Mac my collegue uses one with his Mac Book Pro without issue. A bargin at the price, well reccomended.

3.0 out of 5 stars Kapersky gave me headaches, 14 Dec 2007
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I stopped using Norton as it was killing my system. Kapersky came with a good reputation so I gave it a try. The one user licence is a bit mean(Norton has a 3 user licence). The first thing that happend was that iTunes stopped working, secondly MS Word spellchecker stopped working as Kapersy appears to have corrupted a DLL file(very bad). The UI is old fashioned with limited or no description of what the options do. The software locks my system up on start up, takes longer than Norton to load and sometimes has to be started manually if the av database is not up to date. Lastly the firewall blocks access from applications but there is no allow button to let the request through. Overall this is an average av suite with poor usability .I would not reccomend this to a novice and I am sick of reading the manual to find out what the software is up to or how to stop it. Overall I have had a bad user experience with Kapersky on my XP pro machine but I belive others have fared better. Three stars for the av and updates. Nil stars for usability.
