Wicket in Action
Wicket in Action
by Martijn Dashorst
Edition: Paperback
Price: £26.73

4.0 out of 5 stars Good - A bit outdated but still relevant and in-depth, 24 Jun. 2012
This review is from: Wicket in Action (Paperback)
This book contains information and introductions to the Java bases Wicket Webframework. I would say is essential on the bookshelf for an learning/intermediate wicket-developer.
My suggestions for next release would be.
* Please dwell deeper into the framewwork, have chapter on different repeaters and so on:)
* Update the book to 1.5x or even 1.6x (out soon)
* Thicker conceptual areas
* It should have a chapter called "best practices" which gathers the "best practices" as found on the Wicket wikis and more - ie stuff like "optimize session, always use models, and so on

I bought this with "Enjoying webdevelopment with Wicket (3rd) " and "Wicket cookbook -Igor Vaynberg" and i must say that all 3 of them have nuggets which one of the other books don't cover. Buy them all if your'e serious about Wicket.

This review is from: Apache Wicket Cookbook (Paperback)
This book contains solutions to some common problems a Wicket developer may stumble upon, and is essential on the bookshelf for an learning/intermediate wicket-developer. My wishes for the next edition is:
* I hope the book gets upraded to Wicket 1.5x or even 1.6x (which is out soon)
* I should be twice as thick and dwell deeper into the framwwork, different repeaters and so on:)

3.0 out of 5 stars Best Windows yet - but you can get Ubuntu for free, 21 July 2011
I've used Windows since 3.1, and this is by far the best version yet. Faster, has 64-bits support, more stable and so on. Yet - the latest years there has been less and less initiative to buy Windows - you now can get the equally good Ubuntu (and Fedora, Suse or any other Linux version etc) for free just by downloading a cd/dvd from the net. Just Google, and you'll find their websites. You can think of it as cross between Mac Os and Windows. Ubuntu is recommended for beginners. With that said, i still have one of my computers setup with Windows (the others with Ubuntu) - it's my premium gaming rig. Some games are hard to get to run in Wine in Ubuntu.
So, if you just have normal day-to-day uses like listening to music, watching movies, writing word/office doucments, surfing and other Internet stuff - try Ubuntu. If you are a hardcoregamer - get a Windowslicense.Or get an PS3,WII or XBox:)

Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan (Lonely Planet Multi Country Guides)
Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan (Lonely Planet Multi Country Guides)
by John Noble
Edition: Paperback

1.0 out of 5 stars Outdated and thin, 21 July 2011
Note, this only cover the Georgianpart of the book, because that's where i went.

It's outdated and tries to cover to much in to few pages. I strongly recommend the more update Bradt Georgia guide, until Lonely Planet updates their version, and flesh it out. This book stayed mostly in my backpack during the travelleing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great, much much better than the current outdated Lonely planet version, 21 July 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I was very recently on a trip to Georgia for the first time. I was lucky enough to get the 4:th ed of this guide from Bradt (July 2011). I also brought the latest Lonely planet "Georgia" from 2008, but it stayed in my backpack for most of the time, feeling thin and outdated. I would strongly recommend anyone visiting Georgia to get this in the first place.Oh, and go visit it's a wonderful country, with ethcial and religoius mixes, poverty and riches, and a enormous variation in landscape.

The only thing i found disappointing was that Tblisi's only wholly vegetarian restaurant seemed to have ceased existing (it's both in the LP and the Bradt Georgia guides)

2.0 out of 5 stars Ok product, fails to cleaning head module, no firmware upgrades, limited warranty, 29 Jun. 2011
The product in itself is good - at first, but then you'll notice
that there are flaws, so bad that they have made me not want to buy an irobot again:
*The cleaning head module WILL fail, "google" around , and you'll find a lots of people having these common problems.
*There are only a oneyear warranty from the manufacturer. One year?! Should be 5 for technical product like this!
*There's no possibility to download firmware upgrades. This means the manufacturer (or another vendor) can't release better cleaning algorithms etc. Please Open-Source the firmware, so that someone could bring it to the full potential.

This review goes for other IRobots as well.
