Child of the Mist (These Highland Hills Book #1)
Child of the Mist (These Highland Hills Book #1)
Price: £0.00

1.0 out of 5 stars Another American disaster, 1 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Why do American authors choose to write about British, or in this case Scottish, history without doing any research on the social history of the period. I presume they are writing for American readers who are not annoyed at all the anachronisms and lack of facts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, 1 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This must be the best of Dorothy L Sayers' Wimsey books, with carefully researched details about change-ringing and soldiers in WW1.

1.0 out of 5 stars More American rubbish, 1 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This story is based on real events, but is unfortunately spoiled by an author who had done no research on the subject of conditions in France under the German occupation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent adaptation, 1 April 2014

For those who enjoy Benson's books set in Tilling with the two protagonists disputing who is the leader of small town society, this is a very good adaptation.

Another excellent story set in Britain after the Romans had departed. For children and adults, it's an enthralling read like her other works.

An excellently plotted storyline that leaves the reader wondering about "witchcraft" and the effects of herbs. A happy ending all round.

Striding folly: Including three final Lord Peter Wimsey stories
Striding folly: Including three final Lord Peter Wimsey stories
by Dorothy L Sayers
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars Typical Sayers, 1 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is the usual excellently written work of Dorothy L Sayers. Many modern "authors" would do well to follow her example.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't bother, 1 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A facile little book, with very few facts. No research done by the author obviously. I presume she's American. Avoid
