4.0 out of 5 stars TQATD: Blu-ray---"I gave him a way out, he wouldn't take it"--- yeahhh, 29 Oct. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Ok not the best western ever made but certainly good enough and worth every penny of the £7 asking price for a Blu-ray movie of this quality. Great cast (Sharon stone looks her hottest ever), nice 1 liners (e.g."takes a lot to scare me, I love the sensation" and "wanna play poker with me little lady"? ...... "looks like you're having a great time playing with yourself") and a superb colour palate of golds, sandy browns and light oranges, which make for a very distinctive but memorable look and feel of the whole movie.
The Blu-ray transfer is a fairly decent job considering the age of the movie and the upgrade in picture quality compared to the DVD is noticeable. The picture nevertheless looked very slightly grainy in places, which is why I have only given 4 stars. The Dolby trueHD 5.1 audio is good especially if you have a decent surround sound setup. So is it worth the upgrade from a DVD? Imo yes. There are no fancy extras on the disc but for me that's a minor niggle. A great watch at a decent price.

2.0 out of 5 stars Unoriginal and boring - Sega should not tarnish the reputation of previous games with such rubbish, 8 Oct. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Graphics are just as good as previous games, and similarly there are no bugs/glitches but that's about it.

Like many other reviewers here I have played previous yakuza games and have been a big fan of the series. I am now well over ¾ of the way through this one but unfortunately this game irritates the hell out of me for many reasons. For example the camera angle is often purposefully out of whack so even after acquiring the "head tracking" ability you often end up aiming all over the universe, everywhere except where you should be locking on. The zombies in certain areas just keep appearing no matter how many you kill. The whole combat system (if you can call it that since you only use weapons) is boring and repetitive to the nth degree and to top it all you often have to revisit certain areas over and over to complete a side quest killing more of the same zombies in exactly the same places and getting a headache listening to that grating music. All of which add up to a rather dull and frustratingly farcical gaming experience. This game tries to be too many things at once and fails miserably at all of em. It is not a proper scary zombie game, it is not a proper shooter and it certainly isn't a proper yakuza game as there is no hand-to-hand fighting. Lets face it the majority of us loved the previous yakuza games because of the fighting and the cool and satisfying cut scenes ("heat actions") as you drove a baddie head first into a wall, broke another one's back over a railing, then cooly lit up a cigarette flicked it at the third baddie before smashing his face in and finished the final punk with your samurai sword skills. All whilst the crowd gathered around and cheered you on! This game doesn't have any of that and just doesn't gel.
I bought this game on the strength of the previous titles and yes I was was fully aware that it was going to be a shooting bonanza with no hand to hand combat but I just expected a more engaging experience. I can see why this game failed with poor sales figures across Europe and imo deservedly so. Lets hope we get a proper yakuza game soon with a European release of yakuza 5 and no more of this nonsense zombie crap. Even die hard yakuza fans should stay away from this game imo and certainly newcomers to the series should avoid this one as their introduction to the yakuza games simply because it is rather a chore and not representative of the previous titles. It really is quite a departure from the usual formula. Try Yakuza 3 or 4 instead!
Finally the extra content offered with the limited edition is available to download for free on the PSN so there is really no difference between this and the normal edition though this is cheaper!

Update: Just finished it and I'm glad its over. I can't wait to get rid this game. The only highlight for me was when I eventually got the camouflage armor, which basically makes you invisible to low-level zombies. I promptly put it on and had my wicked ways with the annoying little *****. One more release like this Sega and I will never buy a yakuza game ever again. Lets hope yakuza 5 is better if it ever gets a European release. I am sure it will be but don't try and fix it Sega if it ain't broke!

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality product but a little pricey-if it was cheaper i'd buy all colours in the range!, 30 Sept. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Excellent results and 1 coat is usually enough. Thick consistency and quick drying, perhaps best suited to smaller jobs/areas cos of its rather quick drying time. Previously painted the same object with it 10 years ago and it only needed a re-coat now so provides excellent protection against rust and thats in rainy UK!

5.0 out of 5 stars Blu-ray US import: Great transfer to Blu-ray and a nice booklet., 24 Aug. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I opted for this more expensive US import version because i liked the cover photo and the fact that it opens up like a little booklet to reveal the disc and a few quality print pages on the cast and the director, John Doe's diary etc. The improvement in picture quality (laser sharp) and sound over the DVD version are evident and for me just about worth the £15 asking price considering the age of the release. I haven't had a look at the extras yet but there are some on the disc. A quality movie worthy of a quality upgrade and its place in any movie buff's library. Its region free.

5.0 out of 5 stars Much improved product, 24 Aug. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
More comfortable and sit better on the face than the previous samsung model. Also less difficult to change the battery on these compared to the older model which were rather fiddly. Works with other samsung TVs too and not just the F series (ours is ES 8000). Battery life around 150 hrs is comparable to previous model, and switches itself off if the TV is turned off. Pretty good product and reasonably priced too. Once you use these you wont want to go back to the older model.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best mouse to date, here's some cheese, 28 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Very comfy in my hand, decent size with good gliding over almost any surface. The dpi setting really do make a difference but the best feature for me is the lighting. You can adjust it to be all of one colour or different colours for the logo ,sides and top etc with 5/6 colours to choose from. The side buttons are well placed and the L and R mouse buttons click with a reassuring smoothness. The only negative i came across was that certain games bought and downloaded from steam(for example borderlands GOTY) may not like this mouse and stop you from accessing your games which i only found out about after looking on the net. However the solution was very simple. Would buy this item again and am seriously considering buying the matching keyboard too.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but not excellent--connections are not as snug as they should be, 28 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The cord is well built, plenty long and there is no loss of audio quality. The connection onto the back of the TV is snug but, and here is where it loses 2 stars, the connection between the female part of this lead and my headphone cord is not as snug and occasionally comes a little loose with the slightest tug which becomes immediately apparent as the audio quality becomes lopsided, requiring me to push the connections tight together again. I had previously used another 5 m cord with the same headphones and did not have this issue. Overall not bad but debatable whether i would buy again.

Masterplug SRPT82N-MS Surge Protected Extension Lead Power Centre with 8 Sockets (discontinued by manufacturer)
Masterplug SRPT82N-MS Surge Protected Extension Lead Power Centre with 8 Sockets (discontinued by manufacturer)

4.0 out of 5 stars No problems as yet, 28 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
We have several equipments including a TV, a games console and a blu-ray player plugged into this and there is plenty of room for more. The built quality seems solid, the power cord is over a meter long, and in addition to the red 'power' light there is also a green 'protected' light. Additional cords for use with telephone/fax equipments are provided in the box.I cannot really comment on how well it protects against a power surge as it has not cut out even once during the past 6 months but that is probably due to the general stability of current supply in the UK. There is a manufacturer's guarantee however of up to £20000 if it fails to deliver on its protection promise.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent PS3 power cord replacement, 28 July 2013
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought my PS3 abroad and it came with a US 2 pin type power cord. i didn't want to buy an adaptor to use with the original cord so decided to buy these instead for use in the UK. I have had no problems after nearly 9 months of use. Recommended.
