5.0 out of 5 stars What the follow up to 1987 should have been, 7 July 2011

I can't say enough good things about this record. If you love guitar playing at the highest level, don't hesitate. All but the ballad are fine examples of melodic hard rock (time has not been kind to the ballad). It is such a shame BM got little label support because of the pressure to reform Whitesnake from Kalodner. After this record, Sykes took a lengthy break and unfortunately never reached these heights again.

If you like the Black Crowes, you should like this album. It is a fun record from a young band. It is a shame they never got the second album released. On tour they were a blast.

There was a reason Bob Dylan had Charlie open up for him on his tour - He likes him. The songs on here are well crafted, the musicianship is superb and it just really works. This was a logical step forward after the Arc Angels. It is one of my favorites.

5.0 out of 5 stars Teaser depop'd, 1 July 2011

This album is not perfect. The bad - a couple bad choices with lyric changes in Savannah Woman and vocals in Lotus with too much effect and some bits added to Wild Dogs that were better left off the record.

The good - This is now a self indulgent guitar god album. The addition of guitar fills, solos riffs is soooooooooo tasty. The only guitar part I miss is the feedback in Teaser, but the playing is fantastic. There was so much left on the cutting room floor brought back by this project.

If you love Tommy Bolin the player, this album is what you have been waiting for.

If you want a remastered true to form version of the album on cd - this is not it. This is now a guitarist tour de force. The songs double in length and Tommy is ALL OVER IT. The genius on Spectrum is on full display with all the feel of Tommy's funky side. This is now my favourite album.

PLEASE, give Private Eyes the same treatment - Can you imagine Post Toastee - Please gimme more!!!
