4.0 out of 5 stars At Last!, 13 Dec 2012
I got my Kindle last christmas and although I appreciate it has allowed people who would otherwise remain unpublished a platform for others to read their weork most of the books I have read it has been easy to why they were never published in the first place. But at last someone who can actually write. The other reviews have mentioned the synopsis of the story but if you download it you will not be disappointed.

2.0 out of 5 stars let down, 19 Mar 2012
When this record was first announced it was made out to be some alternate mix of monkey house. As others have said the tracks either don't sound radically different from the monkey house versions or simply sound like demos. The packaging is a disgrace, simply crossing out the titles and putting different numbers against makes it look like the dandys don't give a toss about their fans. There is no information at all in the booklet about how this came to be released, or information about the other mix or mixes. File under ground.

2.0 out of 5 stars what have they done to ratchet and clank?, 15 Mar 2012
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
After avidly playing all the PS2 games and Tools of destruction on the PS3 I was looking forward to another instalment of my favourite game. But after playing it and reading some of the 5 star reviews on here I am wondering if I am playing the same game as everyone else.

Straight from the start things look grim as we get a cartoon looking ratchet warning about epilepsy and the load screens just sit there rather than as before you had a rocket ship going from planet to planet providing a bit of diversion. However the actual gameplay is dreadful. Some missions are so obscure you really have no idea what to do to solve them only solved by going online to look at a walkthrough.

We get the hangover from Quest for Booty where messages telling you what to do appear on screen (as if we didn't know) and the command buttons have changed so to fire a weapon you have to press R1. The weapons are nowhere near as good as previous games and some are not available until later in the game which means that some missions are virtually impossible to complete as you do not have the weaponry to kill an enemy or a tank.

The are are numerous glitches and bugs on the game which has never happened before on any ratchet and clank game with the result that the game doesn't save where it should or cut scenes are rendered incomprehensible.

I could go but I am so disaapopinted in this game!!

3.0 out of 5 stars whats the point?, 7 Dec 2011
Ham fisted track selection (one track from Monster?), lousy thrown together packaging. Just what is the point? There has already been a greatest hits package far better packaged than this and if you are that bothered about getting the so called new tracks then download them. And yes I am big REM fan and this is just an insult to one of the gretaest bands ever.

Offered by IvoryEgg Limited
Price: 47.25

2.0 out of 5 stars OK but......., 17 Oct 2011
As others have said if you want a cheap DAB clock radio alarm then this just about fits the bill. The problem is that the display is angled in such a way that seeing the display is difficult and the numbers are virtually illegible from any distance.

Also the display automatically dims when the room gets dark. Now I know some people like that but surely it should be the other way 'round in that the display should brighten when the room gets dark otherwise how on earth are you supposed to see what time it is?

The instructions are also useless.

1.0 out of 5 stars threatening mail, 5 Oct 2011
This camera did not work on one computer but I did get it working subsequently on another. I reviewed the item and gave it three stars partly because it did not work on one computer but also because the video quality was not that good.

I then received a threatening mail from the company suggesting I should not submit the review or change it.

The strange thing is that my 3 star review has never appeared on amazon!!

Are amazon allowing companies to edit or delete people's reviews?

4.0 out of 5 stars better than most, 7 Jun 2011
This review is from: Complicit (Kindle Edition)
Although I have always enjoyed reading Nikki French books most of them have been just ok and hardly among the books you count as your favourites or even want to read again.

However here they have excelled themselves as the actual murderer is kept secret almost to the end. Although other's have said the "Before" and "After" chapters don't work once you are used to them they really do work brilliantly.

2.0 out of 5 stars Predictable & Cliched, 7 Jun 2011
This review is from: The Hypnotist (Hardcover)
Police unable to solve crime. Bring in damaged person to try and solve it. Its been written about before (Thomas Harris and Jonathan Kellerman) and no doubt it will be written about again. Quite why this novel has gained so much publicity is beyond me. It seems anything that comes out of Scandanavia is now fawned upon regardless of whether its any good or not and so what if its written by two people?

Lots of books have been written by two people its hardly a new concept. PJ Tracey and Nikki French are "authors" that are in fact two people.

The Killing Place: Rizzoli & Isles series 8
The Killing Place: Rizzoli & Isles series 8
by Tess Gerritsen
Edition: Paperback
Price: 5.59

3.0 out of 5 stars am i reading the same book as everyone else?, 17 Mar 2011
I have read all the rizolli/isles books and this is by far the worst of the lot. The plot sounds great but in reality the book seems rushed and the plot device of alternating chapters later in the book between rizzoli and isles is ludicrous as any tension built up by rizzoli thinking isles is dead is blown apart by the reader knowing full well she is not.

The idea as well that the normally staid Maura Isles would on the spur of the moment join a group of near strangers on a journey in huge snow drifts to some log cabin in the woods is riduculous to say the least.

And those people who say that this book is scary - it isn't.
