5.0 out of 5 stars Very happy felines., 6 Dec. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Bought these as a refill for an existing cat toy. One of my cats literally beeped with joy as a new one was fitted and my other older cat couldn't resist either. Two very happy cats=one satisfied guardian. Not sure how long they will last but at this price and for the fun they bring I am very pleased with the purchase.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad for the price., 10 July 2013
This review is from: American Originals 6 Cupcake Maker
My partner bought me this as a gift and I have to say it does make nice little fairycakes, but that is also its biggest problem as another reviewer pointed out you only get mini cakes and standard muffin cases don't fit, if you do try and use them you end up with a miss shapen mess. So if you only want to make a small batch for a couple of people this will suite your needs, it heats up quickly and has proven reliable so far, but if you need more you may as well stick with the oven or trade up and buy one that makes 12 at a time.

My other criticism would be the sellers decision not to include accessories, the booklet that comes with the machine states that this should be a complete starter set including muffin cases (that may have fit properly) and a piping set for icing but these have been omitted, to be fair the seller does state that they are not included I just wonder why as they really would have enhanced the experience and their mention in the products instruction booklet is a little annoying/misleading.

OK so perhaps not much good for parties but this will get used when my partner and I have a spontanious cake craving. On the plus side it doesn't take up much room, about the space of a sandwich toaster, takes about 12 mins to make a batch and is nice enough to look at.

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT VEGETARIAN, 22 Nov. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Despite the product information these ARE NOT VEGETARIAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They contain gelatine. Very very angry as I opened them after ordering on good faith and now not sure if I will be able to get my £11.00 back. Why they are described as vegicaps is beyond me as this is total miss-information.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another cracking read., 27 Jun. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Devoured this in three big gulps then regretted my greed as I will now have to wait ages for part four. Needless to say its a winner. This is British Urban Fantasy at its very best. Unlike another reviewer I think it nestles nicely between Kate Griffins wonderfully mental Swift/Electric Angels novels and Mike Carey's more noire flavoured Felix Castor series in its evocative exploration of London's hidden wealth of esoteric history and law. Throw in some very likeable characters, believable attention to police procedure and a brilliant eye for the absurdities of modern city life and you have another cracking read from my new favourite author. The only negative I can mention is the proliferation of typo's which made me wonder how much the publisher rushed this release, a little more proof reading next time please. Also a word of caution. If you haven't read the first two books do that first as you will get so much more from this instalment (a healthy knowledge of geek culture also helps). Enjoy.

3.0 out of 5 stars Misleading title but sweet enough., 29 Feb. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I have to agree with one of the other reviewers this is not really a book about the vegan experience but more a collection of random life stories some of which just happen to have a vegan theme running through them. Its a nice enough read on the kindle and worth a couple of quid but I would have been pretty annoyed if I had paid for the paper version as this really isn't that special and some of the essays are very short.

Snuff: (Discworld Novel 39) (Discworld Novels)
Snuff: (Discworld Novel 39) (Discworld Novels)
by Terry Pratchett
Edition: Hardcover

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant read, 30 Oct. 2011
The latest entry in the Discworld cannon does not disappoint. Sir Terry delivers once again as this time Sam Vimes takes center stage in a tale full of moral conundrums, action, humor and a sizable serving of poo. My only regret is that having devoured it (the book not the poo)in two greedy sittings I will now have to wait a year for the next trip to Pratchett's wonderful world.

2.0 out of 5 stars Oh dear., 17 Sept. 2011
Don't expect a repeat of the excellent Children Of Earth. This is a dull, tangled mess of a show. With perhaps one or two exceptions this series failed to thrill. Its riddled with characters but totally lacking in emotional development. Each episode manages to undermine the work of the last so that it ended up feeling a bit like one of those games where you can choose a different head, middle and legs to make a weird picture only less entertaining and far more frustrating.

The Burning Soul: A Charlie Parker Thriller: 10
The Burning Soul: A Charlie Parker Thriller: 10
by John Connolly
Edition: Hardcover

5.0 out of 5 stars Another triumph., 17 Sept. 2011
Another totally fulfilling read from John Connolly. The territory is familiar but that's part of the draw. Charlie Parker remains one of the most multi-layered and fascinating fictional characters around aided by a fine cast of supporting characters both new and old.

If you've read Connolly before you know why you keep coming back and you won't be disappointed.

A word of caution if your new to the series you really would be advised to start from the beginning. Its no hard ship as they are all outstanding reads and you will get so much more from this book when you reach it and are not struggling to fill in the character blanks as you might be if you came to it cold.

My only complaint, I've now got to wait for the next one having devoured this one far too fast. Damn you John Connolly I rarely feel so bereft when I finish a book and like all addicts I need more soon!

Scrivener's Moon (Mortal Engines)
Scrivener's Moon (Mortal Engines)
by Philip Reeve
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure brilliance, 16 Aug. 2011
Another outstanding addition to the Mortal Engines cannon, not one to be read as a standalone though as you really do need the context of the other prequels if not necessarily the original(later)three in the series. Fever has proven herself an engaging and emotive heroin and as regular readers will have come to expect the book asks lots of difficult often challenging questions about human nature, morality and social responsibility whilst still maintaining a break neck pace to the satisfying finale. There is also plenty of logical scope for more books set in this always engaging often terrifying always thrilling universe so please Mr Reeve can we have some more?
Just a word of caution the Scholastic paperback addition I read puts this as a 10+ read but I think it would be quite challenge for anybody under 12-13 unless they where very advanced readers, I would recommend waiting that couple of years so that they can fully enjoy it along with similar trilogies like His Dark Materials and Garth Nix, Old Kingdom books.

2.0 out of 5 stars Watch Merlin instead., 17 July 2011
This review is from: Camelot - Season 1 [DVD] (DVD)
What a strange show, everybody seems to be acting from a different script, the actions predictable, the sex not sexy, the magic not magical but I can't say I was surprised as the series creator was responsible for some of the most dire Torchwood episodes. Save yourself time and watch Excalibur for a truly gutsy rendition of the same story or if you want to be entertained for longer and haven't checked out Merlin yet give it ago. Its not strictly speaking loyal to the source material but it has what this series lacks, tons of heart, humor and genuine chemistry between the cast. Oh and if you do decide to try Camelot still be warned Starz its production company have opted not to pick it up for a second series so no chance it will improve with time.
