2.0 out of 5 stars Imagine you are driving That Car already, 21 Jan. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Cobbled together collection of string theory, overcoming self hatred, chemistry, self help. Wealth, success, happiness and religious experience explained (except not) by science. Canfield and some bizarre people who may or may not have a good point -it's hard to tell. Science and religion were never good bed fellows. They are two different languages for explaining how life works. The film aims to teach that what you think about happens this called The Law of Attraction. Think "I am poor" and you will be. Think I am rich and you will be. Mostly it says attract money by obsessing about it 24/7. Well, it doesn't take v v v v clever Phds to figure that out. Focus on good things if you want more good things. Don't say no thanks when you are offered money. Treat yourself like someone you love. Don't moan, whine, complain, bitch or gossip.
Now these ideas are found in Christianity and Buddhism and all religions but the Law of Attraction is aimed at non religious people.
I know people who have practised visualisation and got improvements (better home etc), yes it works. You have created everything in your life so you can now go and create something better. I found it helpful but I don't like the way they produced it. It's cheesy and obsessed with money.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not very deep, 21 Jan. 2011
I didn't get far before the old "write a list of things you want to be, do, have." came up. The steps are not profound or new and if you don't know where you want to be then it's not great. I decided I better spend a year figuring that out then get back to the book. Ofcourse if you know where you want to go then you will probably not need steps to tell you how to get there.
Canfield is a nice guy but he should write half as many books and spend twice as long thinking about the content.
It is also quite shallow. So you want to be rich, right? If you want to be an artist Canfield is not your man. If you want to buy a ferrari and work in sales, buy this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars reassuringly calm, 11 Sept. 2010
I have listened to a couple of meditation c.d's and this is the most calmimg so far. The man's voice is very detached and simple. there is no cringyness which I get from some. I recommend it to anyone who wants a simple meditation free from jargon, religion and new age speak.
