5.0 out of 5 stars Six of the best. Would have been nice to include Masque of ..., 19 Feb. 2015

At last, Price/Corman/Poe on bluray. Six of the best. Would have been nice to include Masque of the Red Death but at least you can order Red Death on separate bluray. The box set comes will tons of extras and the picture quality is the finest seen. I have projected them in HD digital format on a twelve foot screen, (The Raven) stands out the best with rich colours and crisp definition in the Panavision ratio. The Tomb of Ligea even has the UK Anglo Amalgamated intro with an American International soundtrack. The packaging is high quality and also comes with a hard cover book. All in all, great value for money and well worth the waite.

5.0 out of 5 stars PLAY IT COOL., 27 Mar. 2014

Fun 1960s Billy Fury Musical. Anglo Amalgamated's Play it Cool still has it's charm today. Lovely to see Helen Shapiro singing a couple of numbers. The widescreen B&W photography comes across sharp & good sound quality. Network DVD are doing a good job in releasing these vintage films. Still waiting for Billy Fury's other musical (I've Gotta Horse) to be released.

Very disappointed with the picture quality. The focus was very soft throughout the film plus it was non anamorphic, which ment enlarging the picture to fill a widescreen television. Sound quality OK. Such a shame this film was not restored.

5.0 out of 5 stars Edgar Wallace., 19 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I now own all the Edgar Wallace DVD sets. I remember fondly screening these wonderful B movies way back in the 60s as a cinema projectionist at the once lovely art deco Embassy Cinema in Tenterden Kent. The Merton Park 2nd features were famous for their Anglo Amalgamated start up logos together with the catchy theme music. The restored BW picture quality is stunning but the sound is slightly toppy which varies from film to film. The extras include a nice little package of 2nd features (Also from the Anglo/Warner Pathe stable) The set takes pride in my DVD collection. Well done Network.

4.0 out of 5 stars WHEELCHAIR RAMPS, 19 Feb. 2014

These wheelchair ramps are good value for money and very lightweight. This product could have been slightly wider for front and rear wheelchair wheels, apart from this, it serves it's purpose.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE LATE GREAT NORMAN WISDOM, 28 Aug. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I have always loved Norman Wisdom films as a child, Mother & Father used to take me along to the Gaumont Cinema in Chichester West Sussex. It was the start of a love relationship with the cinema, I even took a job as a trainee projectionist after leaving school. It gave me great pleasure screening further Norman Wisdom film to the paying public. This box set has almost all his films, such a great price for these twelve comedies, who could resist.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE SCALES OF JUSTICE, 16 July 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Although The Scales of Justice DVD will not be released until September, I feel I must comment on this series with fondness. I was just seventeen in 1965 and worked as a cinema projectionist in Tenterden Kent. The Scales of Justice second features were often more exciting than the main film. The series always opened with the Warner Pathe logo, followed by the famous Anglo Amalgamated globe & fanfare. Each story was introduced by Edgar Lustgarten. Considering the budget at Merton Park, the stories were rather good with a sprinkling of known actors. After the success of the first B&W programmes, the remaining series bursed into colour. Those who are old enough will remember the closing titles, accompanied by The Tornadoes. A welcome transfer to DVD, along with The Edgar Wallace collection. I shall have many hours of happy viewing.

5.0 out of 5 stars B MOVIES AT THEIR BEST., 4 April 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
At last, the long awaited Edgar Wallace films get their offical release in July.
It was the 1960s, I became a cinema projectionist at The Embassy Cinema in Tenterden Kent. I always had a soft spot for this much loved mystery drama series.
Feature films running over two hours were often accompanied by a short feature, or better still, a B Movie of around 60 minutes. Edgar Wallace films were often better than the main film. Their small budget looked impressive on the big screen.
Who could forget the Anglo Amalgamated logo at the start of the film, followed by The Shaddows (Man of Mystery) Two versions were used, I prefered the presto version, which became a hit for the Shaddows.
In the past, we made do with old sattelite programme recordings that were below average in sound and picture quality
I welcome the release of all 47 films over the coming months. They will sit proudly with my collection.
