Icybox IB-226StU-Wh External Enclosure for 2.5-inch SATA HDDs

5.0 out of 5 stars Icy Box IB-226StU-Wh, 2 Aug. 2011
Very nice case. Used with my old Macbook hard drive. Took about two minutes to fit it together and have it plugged in and working. Very simple design, goes quite well with any white Mac products. Mine didn't have the ventilation grills as shown in the picture however, but I'd doubt they'd be needed much anyway.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great content but..., 3 Dec. 2009
allmusic are pretty much the top source for getting a foot-in into any style of music from any country or time period, with their reviews being used as the basis from all kinds of things from the iTunes store to Spotify, and this book is almost certainly invaluable to anyone looking for an introduction or anyone who just wants to fill in the gaps in their knowledge. However, it seems like every single word of this book is taken from their frankly fantastic website. You can't argue with the content found here, but unless consulting websites for info is not already an everyday part of your life you might as well just browse the site for free.

This pretty much applies to all books in the allmusic guide range. For people who could just as easily use the website, maybe 'The Rough Guide to Hip-Hop' by Peter Shapiro would make a more worthwhile companion. I haven't read it, but it looks pretty much the same as this book and at least it's an alternative take on the subject.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best small sized TV?, 8 Jun. 2009
Used this little TV in University for a year and it was perfect. I have a 26" Bravia back at home that got the 5 star 'WhatHiFi' treatment, and this smaller display is exactly what I hoped for; award winning Sony performance but just smaller, and it easily stands up to the 26" in picture quality and specs.

Built in freeview tuner had great reception and colour, and both Blu-ray/DVD and video games looked detailed and perfectly smooth in motion. Sound from the speakers is slightly limited due to the size but for a small room it's loud enough.

Only issue is that there is a little backlight glimmer at the very top and bottom which is noticeable during dark scenes. I found turning the backlight down to around 3 or 4 out of 10, and just pushing the brightness level up a tad to around 55 or 60 helped this little flaw a lot. People tend to have their TV's too bright in most cases so don't worry too much about other reviewers complaints. Chances are they have the backlight set way too high.

As a Hi-Fi snob I found it difficult in choosing a small TV that actually had good performance and proper TV resolution instead of the PC monitor resolution a lot of small screens have, but this turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. Cheaper 20" screens can be found, but not at this quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Possibly life changing?, 3 Jan. 2006
This review is from: Vurt (Paperback)
I am a student, and we were mucking about in the libary at lunch one wet break - and i saw this book in the shelf and picked it out due to the versions random colour scheme. I read the blurb and thought it sounded ok. I started reading...
When i finished it a few weeks later (i'm a slow reader...) i new it was the best book i had ever read. It's perfect mix of violence, sex, futuristic drugs, and an incredibly emotional and heart-pounding, creative and immaginative story just blew me away.
I talked my friends into reading it, who read all the time and finished it within a day or two, and they decided it was their favoutite book too. Now, two years later, the book has become a bit of a legend, almost a bible, too all that have read it.
This book appeals to both people looking for a cool story, and those looking for a masterpiece. If you read it, you will agree i can assure.
Jeff Noon is the Jeff Beck of the writing world!

5.0 out of 5 stars Shooter Paradice, 2 Sept. 2005
I've played the demo levels to this game and i've been blown away by everything it has to offer. It's not a port from the PC, it's an entiely new game, and a better one I think.
In my opinion, probably the most important thing about any type of game is the enviroment. Where you are and what it feels like effects the hole experience of the game, and the tropical island paradice you are traped on is certainly one of the most beautiful and detailed enviroments I have yet seen. The sun streaming through the thick trees, butterflys and birds fly through the colouful plants and foilage littering the island. To put it simply, it's gob smacking.
And the conrols and game mechanics are equaly as fine. Moving around, aiming, shooting, setting traps, driving cars, boats etc, making stealth kills, the lot, it all feels natual, polished and solid.
As i've only played a couple of demo levels I havn't yet experienced the best bits of the game, but from videos, the 'animal' powers you later obtain all seem rather solid and fun to use, something that PC gamers wont get to see.
Overall, this can't really fail. If you like FPS's, then buy it, if you like sunshine, palmtrees and beautiful scenery, buy it, if you like mutating into a beast and going on a murderous rampage, then just buy it! Its brill, seriously!

4.0 out of 5 stars Tony Hawks: Underground, 7 Feb. 2004
The 3rd Tony Hawks game on PS2. Download your face into the game using network adapter. Get off your board at any time to grab, jump and climb to places which would have been out of reach before. Still cars and drive them around the location. Proper story mode with allies, enimies and many twists. Create your own tricks by combining grabs, flips, spins and specials together. Design and make your own decks to use whenever. Play online using network adapter. Game includes fantastic soundtrack with 75 songs (rock, punk and hiphop) including KISS and Queens Of The Stone Age. Play as 17 pro skaters (not available in story mode) including Tony Hawks and Andrew Reynolds.

Overall, a skatebaording game which goes beyond skateboarding. Easily the best most in-depth extream sports game available to the PS2. A must buy for fans of the genre and for a good multiplayer experience.
