5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect, 1 Feb. 2014

It was the prefect size to fill with lost of bulky gifts, a little on the cheap side obviously but it was the best I found anywhere for the size, and great for a rough four-year-old not worried about super quality, and packed with presents and Pepa Pig George peeking out, he loved it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Weird and Wonderful Whale sounds, 1 Feb. 2014

Weird and wonderful sounds, unfortunately I tend to sit listening intently imagining what the communications mean and not necessarily falling into calm relaxation.

3.0 out of 5 stars Duller than online, 1 Feb. 2014

The red is duller than it looks online, it is a dirtier red, the quality is just about acceptable for the price, but it looked nice enough on the Christmas table.

2.0 out of 5 stars Pretty happy, 1 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I was pretty happy with these, quality is fine, but overpriced in my opinion, £10 at most I’d say, but they’re as they look online, but I’m marking them down because they’ve scuffed after just a couple of uses.

Nachtmann - Rumba - Large Bowl / Serving Dish x 1

4.0 out of 5 stars Affordable decent quality glass, 1 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Nachtman make affordable decent quality glass and for the price, this is a very attractive bowl, not quite as ‘crystalline’ as it looks online – a little too machined-looking at the rim – but happy with it.

Cheap and cheerful hats, I hope they last but pleased with the quality and colour is pretty much accurate, tempted to get a few more colours at this price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very nice, 1 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The paper is quite cheap and porous in these notebooks and there is show-through, but for what I wanted them for – keeping daily notes of time/work for jobs as a freelance designer to collate for invoicing – they’re perfect, no annoying ring-binder, hard cover so easy to carry around and get bashed about, and a good price and eco credentials. The cover is just thin matt paper on board but a nice discrete colour and design, I get endlessly irritated by psychedelic patterned and coloured covers. Recommended, but no frills attached.

1.0 out of 5 stars These discs are £3.79 on the Tassimo website, 19 Jan. 2014
These discs are £3.79 on the Tassimo website. I don't believe there can be a justifiable reason for the discrepancy although I have asked Tassimo and hope they will respond.

5.0 out of 5 stars LISTEN WITHOUT PREJUDICE, 22 Dec. 2013
This review is from: This Is What I Do (Audio CD)
OK, this is a really good album, and as another George once asked, listen without prejudice. This is a more mature George with more gravitas to his voice, but, like the beard, it comes with his unique androgynous panache and the sweetness that made him everyones darling in Culture Club.

I'm giving this a FIVE because it's so great to hear him doing what he does best, sweet a blue-eyed soul-reggae hybrid pop, and it may not be a ground breaking or a classic album, but if it had come out in June it would have been my sound for the summer, there is sunshine in them there grooves! And here's a quick run-down:

King of Everything - is a gorgeous almost Gary Barlow-esque ballad if you don't feel that's an insult, and I don't.
Bigger Than You - is George channelling Grace (yes there is only one).
Live Your Life - is, ooo, some white boy reggae is so sweet, and Georgie Boy's is the sweetest.
My God - has church bells leading into George's redemptive hymn to survival and acceptance (I think!), and who has more right to sing about that!
It's Easy - sounds like George channelling Louis Armstrong via Van Morrison into a country and western love song. And it is lovely.
Death of Samantha - is George covering Yoko and it has a guitar-strummed 70s cool feel. I'm really enjoying George's more gravelly singing voice.
Any Road - is a gently sung heart-felt ballad, `If you don't know where you're going any road will take you there'.
My Star, Love and Danger, Nice and Slow - are fun reggae-pop with George's imprint and some toasting, I for one miss it. MORE COD REGGAE PLEASE!
Play Me - is a sexier song with a lovers-rock groove and some weirdly cute scratching blips and vocoder vocals.
Feel The Vibration - is George in protest song mode which of course is not shouty, just a few pertinent phrases about too much war and not enough love and a driving groove to let you `feel the vibrations'.

So, welcome back George, the world would be a duller place.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Surprised, 20 Dec. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Even after having read the reviews, I am very surprised and quite chuffed at the quality of this 2014 Diary for the price, it feels substantial, with a padded leatherette cover and clean gold print, the corner protectors are solid, the paper smooth and the inside printing very crisp and clear. I was expecting something much flimsier and cheaply manufactured. I really can’t fault it. It’s a stocking filler for my mother to keep notes of her daily medication, so she didn‘t want anything too fancy and I’m sure she’ll be scolding me for spending too much on it!
