These stories mark a fine new name in horror. This is evocative and creepy writing, encompassing some dark turf and great ideas. Strongly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality zombie novel, 10 Aug 2009
This book follows some great traditions. It has some realistic scenes and genuine sense of place, along with some fine action. There are parts of it that provide genuine chills, and all along this rings alive with quality storytelling.

A page turner - I read this in two sittings.

5.0 out of 5 stars Astounding book, 7 Mar 2009
Some books really deserve their status as a classic, and this is one of them. A moving and involving tale about race and justice, which is moving and revealing. I'd recommend this to anyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very, very funny, 7 Mar 2009
This is one of those books that make you laugh out loud. The style is close to the original stories, apart from all the bizarre things going on. The humour here covers a broad range, varying from sophisticated literary parody to the downright ridiculous.

It also uses some of the original Holmes illustrations, but puts a bizarre twist on them with some great captions. Great entertainment - well worth getting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Neat!, 20 Dec 2008
This book is neat. Neater than the author's house anyway which is really untidy.
