Well i thought all screen protectors were the same....how wrong i was! Cheap quality, feels like a really cheap plastic coating on the screen after putting it on...and problems putting it on? Oh yes....bubbles! Plenty of air bubbles no matter how careful you are....thankfully i used 4 in trying to get it looking half decent...so i gave up and threw the other two in the bin. Waste of money.
Avoid!

Came promptly after ordering though so one star for that!

3.0 out of 5 stars Virgin on the ridiculous, 21 Feb. 2012

Well, i psyched myself up again thinking this was going to be the ultimate Simple Minds box set for the purists such as myself and like i was with Silver Box, i'm disappointed in Kerr and Burchill and in EMI for releasing another missed opportunity! Yes its cheap..yes it has the (few) unreleased B-sides but would it not have been better just shoving the whole lot out in one disc? And a few of the B-sides are non essential, the Extended Promised You A Miracle, The Club MIx of Glittering Prize....There is a rather tasty US mix of Miracle which i would've rather had on this disc instead of the normal album version with an extra minute at the end which the extened mix is! The actual albums are the 2002 remasters with the B-side material being the only newly remastered content. The hardcore SM fans will have the original albums, the original cds, the remastered cds,the original vinyl 12"s, the Theme boxes, , and everything else...so who are Virgin/EMI aiming this set of albums at? I would have paid the extra few pounds to have a nice tactile box set with jap style mini sleeves with all the inserts...EMI have already released the 2002 remasters in this way...Its nit-picking but when you have bands like Porcupine Tree releasing beautiful packages with their re-releases and intelligent track listings, i just think that the Minds are squandering their legacy with cheap cash-in releases with no thought put into them. Too late to do anything about it now...they're released and out.

She has nicked her ideas and raison d'etre wholesale from Fischerspooner...her sound is very Goldfrapp and likes to shock a-la Madonna. But thats neither here nor there. It's a good album. She'll go far!

Sheer lazyness buying this as i have it on a 7" single and i should be converting it to mp3...cos i have not been able to get the single version on a cd anywhere. But this is , to me, the 'Jokes finest 3 minutes. Everything that is good about them is here in their finest single to date.
Perfection

3.0 out of 5 stars A rush job?, 17 Nov. 2008

This is a disc of 2 halves. The New Town section is excellent. the mix is amazing, picture quality is a bit grainy but that adds to the feel of the gigs. The 2002 gig is a different bucket of monkeys. The picture quality is stunning. Almost HD quality. The sound is a different matter....a very poor mix indeed. Ferry's vocals are too far forward in the mix. Hardly any bass to speak of and Mick Green's guitar is too loud into the bargain! I've not been this disappointed in a DVD since Pink Floyd's 'Pulse'! Virgin mess up again!

1.0 out of 5 stars The Great Virgin Rock'n'Roll Swindle, 22 Jun. 2008
What did the Minds ever do to Virgin to deserve the treatment their back catalogue has recieved over the years? This added to the original 'Themes' box sets and the 'Silver Box' set are two of the biggest sorry excuses for a band of the Minds stature and popularity to be released! The singles on this set, when released at the time, were pretty much a waste of time anyway but to release them in this way and then asking over £20 for it and then to re-release the original Themes as a 25 disc box for over £100?.....c'mon, give us something we want not something you think we want! Give it up Virgin! Game over...( Dont buy this, it only encourages them!)
