5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Everyday Cookbook, 2 Nov 2012
I own a lot of cookery books..... 100's, and to be honest most of them are used as food porn. Items to read, enjoy but rarely cook from. Lately I've tired of that - what I want are cookbooks that I can use everyday - practical, tasty, filled with exciting everyday food that I can serve to an 8 year old who hates veg and is scared of spice. This book fits the bill perfectly. It's filled with recipes that I want to cook ..... and cook now. I've just made the Roast Honey and Cumin Chicken on page 26 - it was a REVELATION! It marinated all afternoon ...... and was absolutely one of the most delicious things to have entered my mouth this week. Buy it. Buy it now. You won't be disappointed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Took a chance and it paid off, 2 Oct 2011
I bought this (and the rest of the series) to take on holiday - purely because they were cheap (and because they had received so many good reviews on here).

I read the prequel first and then this one.......(just about to start the 2nd one in the series)........... Very pleasantly surprised.

Kept me turning the pages.............

Enjoy

5.0 out of 5 stars What a way to spend a year!, 26 April 2011
As a proud Welshwoman I am always on the look out for exciting Welsh cookery books. My excitement was doubled when I noticed that here was a book not only about cooking in Wales - but it was also by one of my favourite cookery writers! (I loved her European Peasant Cookery).

The book is not brimfilled with the traditional Welsh recipes I had hoped for - but there are enough...... along with many exciting additions........ it's the sort of book that has you drooling within the first couple of pages. Partly because you want to eat the food - and partly because you are so very eager to cook the food. (Not sure I'll be trying the squirrel or snail recipes anytime soon though...... but never say never).

The recipes in general do not require a cupboard full of expensive and hard to source ingredients. (I do wish cookery writers would realise that we do not all live in big cities with access to Asian/Mediterranean Grocers).
