1.0 out of 5 stars Monumental let down, 15 Nov 2010
despite brilliant 1st effort from the new author, all fell flat on its face with this last one, if you read it you will notice that there is a ridiculous amount of jabbering on details that are not only irrelevant to any kind of plot of the book but also feel that we as fans of the series are being led like donkeys to make more money for the publishing group.

if you go to the authors website, and do a little 10 min research online you will see that R Jordan wanted to publish memory of light as one book. Since he has tragikly passed away, it was decided that tthe last book should be split into 3, the gathering storm was excellent... i thought i saw a glimmer of hope for someone to pick up the mantle... and then we got to this one (which should be at the apex-or something near it- of the series), which lacks nearly everything of the intensity from the last one, in fact, so badly does it lack the story that you could probably boil down the whole book into 3 chapters that are relevent.

I feel ripped off and sad that at a point where the years of loyalty to the series has come to this pitiful end, the gems that are in this book are so surrounded by rubbish that they are unfortunately drowned in what is otherwise a totally forgetful book.

but wait it gets better! we now will have to wait another year or 2 before we actually get to the end (presuming it is released as promised- and no there arent any specific dates yet), so instead of trying to put us to sleep with this cliffhanging type of story perhaps they should have just done what the main man said and tied it off.

very very dissappointed!

5.0 out of 5 stars sad but true, 7 Oct 2010
This review is from: The Gathering Storm (Hardcover)
Hi all,

i am a dedicated fan of RJ, i have found all his books to be excellent and well worth the money, rereading them a few times too. though i did find the last 3 a little on the drawling side, which is perhaps understandable considering health issues.

this version (BS) was like a breathe of fresh air, pace was excellent, story was fantastic, 1 or 2 minor spelling/grammar errors but nothing to cry about. my only gripe is that i have to wait, what will feel like an Age, for the next one to come out (though its only a month!)

EXCELLENT BOOK, MUST BUY,

i am preordering the next one NOW!

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST MONITOR EVER, 27 July 2010
hi all,

after reading many many MANY reviews i was trying to decide between this monitor, 2233rz, VS 3d and AW2310. i got to say that there are some very good reviews out there, and i failed to find a monitor that didnt fail in one aspect or anotehr. many complained about the backlight bleeding, but i have no probelm with this at all. this monitor is perfect, nice size, trendy design, no dead pixels, great performance.

for £100 less than the aw3210 you lose the hieght adjustment and swivel but thats easily fixed by use of a good book or 2.

THIS MONITOR IS GREAT! games are better than ever, colours are awesome (speaking of which i saw a few reviews re the colour deterioration when off perfect viewing angle, utter bollox, i have a really good tv 'bravia'and there is a little but its nothing to cry about at all.

best buy ever, i am so pleased!
