The extremely negative review almost ended the purchase. I reasoned that the issues experienced had to be unusual. And so far this appears to be the case. I checked the unit carefully before use. Although no living creatures were being put at risk, living organisms were in jeopardy. Namely the yeast in my batch of fermenting beer. Proof will be in the drinking.
The device is keeping temperature steady and consistent and so gets a thumbs up from me. No five star rating because I felt the temperature control could have been delineated in some way making it easier to duplicate the best temperature setting for measured volumes. However, this aside, it is pretty straightforward to operate so maybe I am being pedantic!
Repeating many many others it is ridiculous that the kindle fire hd does not come with a charger. I made do with a 1amp iPhone charger. But it's not ideal when you also need to charge your phone and iPod simultaneously and you only have 2 chargers! Anyway, it takes for ever to charge the hd with a 1amp unit. So I considered this item.. But at £18? Come off it. It cries exploitation (as do the ads rooted into the kindle's mutilated Android based OS.. Dreaming of the power to install a clean Android package..) Do yourself a favour, look else where. I eventually opted for the EasyAcc UK 5V 2A Universal AC Charger Adapter at a tenner. Works great. But you may find better. Happy hunting.
I have had a long think about how to describe Garth Marenghi's Darkplace and I'm totally lost for words. It's ludicrous; it's bonkers; it's murderously funny! Simple as that.
Rarely will I criticise somebody so vehemently but the 1 star individual both fails comprehending film as much as they fail at English. Quite embarrassing. This is such a thought provoking film, during and after. All I can say is watch it. Simple as that. It has become a member of my exclusive club of movies of which I will watch when I need inspiration or just downright entertainment.
Cold, dark, thought provoking humour. Jon Gnarr is superb. The same can be said for the other leading/supporting cast. I recommend this DVD, absolutely.
One criticism is the subtitles that don't appear to be totally accurate and in comparison to the recent run on BBC4 are badly timed and hard to keep up with. Another gripe is the absence of the special feature documentary from the English option. Of course you can watch the Icelandic version but with the absence of any subtitling one has only the option to chuckle at the obvious charm and humour that exhumes from Gnarr's body language - or learn Icelandic!
Ok, so good... except price. Hmmmmm.... Buy from one of the many Iceland based stores and you're talking between 26 - 30 GBP.
Conclusion... buy the set, they are uniquely wonderful, but don't get ripped off. Make sure you look about and get the best deal.
"Never say never" is the only thing remaining from my original review. My current situation follows:
RATING: ZERO
I hang my head in shame. I waited a few days after using the product before I gave my last review of this product. Some 3 weeks after there was nothing but trouble. Repeated disconnections of LAN and Internet connection finally resulting in a 30 second cycle. Totally unusable. I contacted the incompetant outsourced Linksys customer service staff and was messed about. And finally you're told that you have to pay to return their defective products and are gifted with a refurbished second hand replacement. A joke of a company and a joke of a product. If you value your money don't buy this defect. And if you need any more encouragement please check the linksys website forum for a multitude of dissatisfied customers asking how this so called reputable company could mess up so badly. I won't be buying Linksys again. I sincerely apologise for my previous review. If only Linksys was sincere...
