5.0 out of 5 stars Zelda back on track, but not at these prices..., 12 Feb 2011
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This is undoubtedly the best Zelda game on the Cube and is actually alot better to play than the Wii version. But don't pay these stupid prices, although the game was only available in limited numbers in the UK, due to the release of the Wii. You can still buy this for just over 30 if you get it from Cex. Amazon collectible prices make me laugh, what isn't collectible?

2.0 out of 5 stars Aslan the voyeuristic Lion, 17 Jan 2011
Watched this on Tv yesterday, If you have seen the first one you may remember how irritating the kids are, nothings changed with that. Why do all these kids films have snobby little children playing the main roles. My main gripe with this film was with Aslan (The Lion). He spends the whole film sneaking about the woods, doing nothing even though he has the ability to stop all the killing. He then turns up at the end, kills the few army members that are left AFTER the battle and claims all the glory! What a Di*k! Prince Caspian himself was a wuss and a tool and it was understandable why he was dethroned. I hope the latest film contains a role model kids could actually have some pride in...

1.0 out of 5 stars Just buy the first film, the rest are Gash, 21 Nov 2010
Nightmare 1 - Classic horror, original idea, great suspense and heart felt execution, 5 stars
Nightmare 2 - gash
Nightmare 3 - gash
Nightmare 4 - gash
Nightmare 5 - gash
Nightmare 6 - gash
Nightmare 7 - double gash (in-fact, somehow holier than a gash, which in essence is just a hole)

Be grateful it is only a 7 disc set without the 2010 Nightmare 1 regash, which by the way is..... gash

2.0 out of 5 stars If it hadn't of already been done better, then maybe 3 stars, 21 Nov 2010
Just finished watching this along with the first 7 Freddy movies. This new one is a carbon copy of the 1st Nightmare (1984),but jizzed over with CGI. The new Freddy is a let down, even with the latest make-up he still isn't as creepy looking as the original. And the sad thing is the actor looked like a burn victim before they burnt him. It is however better than Nightmare 2-7 which are poor at best and even admitted by Wes Craven only made because New Line Cinema offered him big $ for building there company with the original.
The film lacked the suspense of the original as Freddy is offered up in full view within seconds, killed it from being a classic horror to just another over gory slasher movie. freddy spends alot of the movie sharpening with finger knifes either on a pipe or flick them together, suggesting they maybe blunt. Really wish people in creative media positions would come up with some fresh ideas rather than rehashing old films and adding numbers to titles, i.e Nightmare 2,3,4,5,6,7, new version of 1, my guess...new version Nightmare 2, AGAIN! Please No!

Appleseed : Steelbook Edition (2 Disc) [DVD]
Appleseed : Steelbook Edition (2 Disc) [DVD]
Dvd ~ Shinji Aramaki

2.0 out of 5 stars Style over content and not much style..., 23 Oct 2010
I bought this dvd on the strength of the reviews and with the hope it may come close to a modern take on Akira. No chance... The CGI and the animation don't sit well together, the two have that super imposed look and never really marry together well throughout the film, the characters always look segregated from the backgrounds. The animation itself doesn't come close to classic Manga films of the past like Fist of the North Star or Ghost in the shell.
The best part of this film was the box, everybody loves a steelbook. The story was basic by modern standards, kinda fused together elements of terminator, ghost in the shell with a hint of matrix. Though all three films blow this one out of the water and would sooner watch the credits of these films than the main body of this one.
Would recommend making a stick man flick book on the corner of an old note pad over watching this film.

4.0 out of 5 stars cheap to buy & cheaply made, 7 Oct 2010
You should already know if you like the films by now... 1 & 2 great the third is gash and the forth made a bit f a come back. However if your looking for a quality box-set, this isn't it. Little to no extras, the case is cheap thin plastic, two of the disc studs that hold the DVDs broke when i took the films out to watch, they rattle around now. And the sleeve and card cover look like they have been printed by a child on a school printer. The images have been blown up to such a size that they have that pixelated, I'd expect more from a chimp with a crayon.
To sum-up 3 great films, no extras and a tacky box.

1.0 out of 5 stars taken over 'Save the last Dance' as the worst film i ever sore., 6 Oct 2010
I have just finished watching Dr Parnassus and thank good i borrowed it from a mate and didn't waste any money, though the time i will never get back. The film failed to ignite any kind of imagination and the director failed to imagine any kind of story line. The characters have no depth and are not explained throughout the whole film. I know Heath Ledger sadly died during this film, but it hasn't helped the film at all. They change him into Johnny Depp, the Irish guy and Jude Law without any explanation, he ends up being the only character that changes face when going through the mirror, Which left this self indulgent film strung together by no more than CGI effects.
Thank god Heath Ledger was awesome in Batman, because this film is nothing to be remembered for.
The devil character is unconvincing, the midget is wooden at best, Heaths English accent is terrible, Doctor Parnassus is as gripping as an old drunk in real life, the ginger bird has great breasts and the extras out act the over paid Stars mentioned on the front of the DVD. Watch this only when trying to recover from eye surgery.

1.0 out of 5 stars Giving Carnies a bad name, 25 Mar 2010
This review is from: Brother (Audio CD)
The new album from the band that twinned there release date with there dead member tribute show, shameful marketing. That even pikey Irish carnies would be disturbed by. More bland sounds from the boy band that has had all there biggest in the form of covers.
Get on Boyzone, will call you when a member of my family dies so you can launch a new lunchbox on the back of it.
