4.0 out of 5 stars All saints, all sass, all class, 26 Jan. 2006

SPICE GIRLS RULE!! There...thats it. Now I'm going to discuss ALL SAINTS. Their debut, "All Saints" is a little piece of heaven as far as pop albums go. All killer, no filler. Each track oozes attitude. The now legendry pop classic "Never Ever" is the highlight, along with the seriously cool "Bootie Call", the sassy downtempo "Under The Bridge" and the heartfelt ballad "War Of Nerves"- so basically the singles. But the other tracks are good too. "Trapped", "Take The Key" and "Heaven" are downtempo urban slices of perfection which follow a similar direction as "Never Ever". "If You Want To Party", "Lady Marmalade" and "I Know Where Its At" are party pop perfection. "Beg" is something else- its funky, its catchy, its fun and energetic.
A fine debut.

5.0 out of 5 stars Trully unique album from a trully unique lady, 2 Jan. 2006

Possibly one of the most publicised chart events in UK chart history occurred between the two unstopabble collaborations, Victoria Beckham and True Steppers with pop perfection "Out Of Your Mind" and Sophie Ellis Bextor and Spiller with "Groovejet"- of course the latter won hands down. Since that release, Sophie's unique image and voice have been under extreme hype. Is the hype worth it? I say yes...
Highlights include the opener "Murder On The Dancefloor", a 70's sounding disco classic that is surely going to be played at every wedding and childrens party for the next 100 years, debut single "Take Me Home" oozes stylish obscurity with its strange melodies and rich vocals. "Lover" has a gritty dirty downbeat sound that stands out on the album- with more f-words and a harder beat, the track would probably be a Prodigy track. "Music Gets The Best Of Me" is a light poppy afair with a very catchy chorus, "Get Over You" is the infectous track that saw Sophie doing a robotic dance routine that actually didnt look foolish!
The album is full of little jems from a variety of genre's and styles. A must have debut album.

5.0 out of 5 stars the British answer to Delta Goodrem, 11 Oct. 2004

Finally an escape from the Hip Hop scene that seems to have taken control over the music charts all over the world. Lucie's breathtakingly beautiful piano melody's and her touching lyrics shine on her debut album. Standout tracks include the debut single "What You're Made Of", the more uptempo "Dont Look Back", title track "Breathe In", the haunting ballad "Nothing Else Matters" and of coutse the big standout track "The Game Is Won". From start to finish Lucie tell's tales of love and heartbreak. Definently worth buying!
