Its no up close and personal, 18 Oct. 2005
I bought this DVD with great anticipation from watching the Lions Up Close and Personal DVD of the 2001 tour to Australia. This dvd is a narrated documentary of the tour rather than an insight into the "real" lions den.
There are less candid and natural moments of the players, and the drama that unfolded in the news whilst the tour was on hardly features.
There was no getting to know these Lions and the actual workings of the tour.
The dvd felt more like a brief story of the tour and somewhat censored, so brief that match footage hardly existed. I think I blinked and missed it. Unlike the 2001 dvd players views on the matches you could count on one hand.
The most dissappointing thing was that during the film the voices of the players and managers dont match the picture. Some very bad dubbing has occurred on the dvd, so you are hearing what they have said at a slight delay to their mouths. How too arranged and contrived is that?
If you were hoping for another great lions dvd like up close and personal then dont expect too much from this one. It is a good buy for any fan if you can set aside the flaws.
