Works perfectly with Linux and battery life is amazing!, 26 Nov 2013
This is a really attractive looking mouse and it works really well. It feels nice in the hand and the scrolling is nice and smooth (though you'll want to make sure you have smooth scrolling enabled in your browser). I've tested it with update to date releases of Arch Linux, Fedora and Ubuntu (13.10) and all the buttons and gestures are fully supported out of the box with no software installation required.
The only thing that you can't make full use of on Linux without installing software is the ability to share one Logitech Unifying Receiver for multiple input devices. Fortunately there is a tool called Solaar which you can download. This will not only allow you to pair and unpair devices with the receiver but also lets you view the mouse battery level. The mouse naturally comes paired already with its own receiver so you may not need to / want to do this anyway.
Finally I feel I must comment on the battery life which is amazing! I've had this since the very start of July and have used it daily since (for several hours a day usually) and have yet to change the batteries (I am still using the ones it came with) and it has only just reported to have dropped to 80% after pretty much 5 months worth of daily use. I don't think I've ever had a mouse last this long. Very impressed!
