5.0 out of 5 stars Buy It!, 20 April 2013

These are amazing. The sound reproduction of sound that these headphones are capable of is exquisite at this price range. If you are in the market for a new pair of headphones that can be easily used with most devices, then these are the ones.

You cannot go wrong. It has great dynamics, from bass to mids to treble. Nothing is boosted you hear pretty much closely to what the artist intended and that is great because it allows you to tweak your EQ and listen to content the way you want it. No matter what you throw at these headphones, it can handle it. From rock to pop, reggae to reggaeton and classical to meringue.

You are going to hear everything and it will sound great!

It also does a good job in blocking out sound, however it is not to the level of IEM's or some other headphones.

Also, your ears may get a little warm (or hot depending). Which can ruin comfort a little, but for me it's been ok. Never became too warm.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good enough as a replacement cable with a Mic/Remote. However hope you like you left/right channels reversed., 20 April 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a rather simple product. The idea is to be a replacement cable for anything that you use (i.e, Beats headphones or Fanny Wangs) that has an input jack on it.

One end of this cable should ideally go to a device like your phone or Mac and the other end to your headphone. The big benefit of this cable is the remote/microphone which is useful for turning your headphones into some of the nicest headsets that you can have.

The downside, which is just in my experience with this cable, is that the left and right channels are reversed. I didn't notice it at first but once you do notice it becomes a bit annoying.

As for build quality, I think the material used for the cable could have been better as you do get some bad micro-phonics if the cable is shuffling and brushing up against your clothes or hands a lot, which can also get a bit annoying. But is something you can get around with in terms of where and when you would use this cable. If you are sitting down at your computer with headphones on then it's not a problem. But walking around or jogging, then it will be a problem.

The actual remote looks and feels pretty cheap. The one button is ok, you can feel the click but it's still a little hard to press if you are feeling around for it as it is flush with the rest of the case.

So overall, not bad, but look around there are better replacement cables for the same price or less.

2.0 out of 5 stars Unfortunately Useless Preamp, 23 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The selling point of these headphones is that it has a built-in amplifier which is suppose to make listening to audio an on device a dream or as close to it as possible. Unfortunately that is not the case. At least in my experience. If you do a quick google or YouTube search for reviews on these headphones, you will hear that these are a pretty good pair of headphones that supposedly have sound quality close to that of the Audio-Technica ATH-M50 or Shure SHR-840. Many saying that it beats the likes of the "Beats by Dre" series of headphones. That may be true if you used these headphones without turning the amplifier on. The sound is indeed flat and never came across as overpowering at any part of the audio spectrum. Mainly because the sound was down to the capabilities of the audio source. It is easy to refine the sound to how you like it, and these headphones give you great flexibility in doing so as they are quite powerful and really do perform well throughout the human range of hearing.

But that is with the amp off.

Switch the amp on and you lose a lot of detail. You lose the bass that was nice and warm and present and gain ridiculous levels of treble, to the point that in order to listen to content which is just speech you will need to turn the amp off as it induces a buzzing sound and lots of distortion. The treble introduced by switching the amp on overpowers everything and there is little you can do about it with EQ except to switch the mode of "bass boost" mode. This helps by boosting the lower end of the spectrum, only now you have shrilling highs and boomy lows. The bass is not refined, nor does it retain any of the quality it had when listening to the headphones with the amp off. Personally, the sound in general has become a mess when using the built-in amp.

This has led me to search for other DAC's with built-in amps like the FiiO E7 to use with these headphones instead of the internal amp. But, I shouldn't have to do that and neither should you. The idea with these headphones is that the package is all-in-one and you do not need to look for a separate amp to drive these headphones and get great sound. So for me, these headphones failed to deliver, at such a high price point as well I was really hoping it would not be the case and feels more like a gimmick after experiencing it for myself.

I do not recommend this product to anyone looking for headphones. Unless you have cash to burn, these headphones, a separate amp and a cable which can split the headphone and mic jacks for PC use will be very good if not excellent for listening to any kind of content. But again, it defeats the point in even spending this amount of money on a product that has a built-in amp, only so that you will need to buy another external amp all because the built-in amp is not adequate.

It's unfortunate, but I really wanted to like these headphones. They definitely look great and are very comfy to wear too, but not being able to use the amp is a real let down.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great pair of buds but Android users beware., 19 Feb 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
These are a great set of buds for the price. I needed a good pair of earphones with an in-line remote and mic so that I can use them to listen to music and make the occasional calls on my S3 without the need to take it out of my pocket. Because of all this "Made for iPhone" branding I was really skeptical in buying one, but in the end I gave in because all phones really should adhere to the same standard that earphones like this use when they employ an in-line remote.

The result? It paid off, almost. The middle button works exactly like it would if you are and Android user. Clicking it will answer and end calls, and multiple presses will allow you to pause/play and skip tracks while listening to music. The only caveat is the volume buttons do not work. Pressing either or trying to do a combination of button presses will yield nothing. The volume of your song will stay the same. It's a small unfortunate set-back that doesn't detract from the fact that it is still a very good sounding set of earphones, that you can use as a headset for calls as well (if you are using an Android device).

That set-back is the only reason for one less star, otherwise it is a very good set of earphones. It comes with a nice assortment of tips in different sizes and their hybrid cushioned tips which fit very comfortably in the ear during my time with them.

Coming from a Sennheiser IE7, these earphones have a lot to live up to. The sound quality is great, nice highs, clear vocals, good mid's and the woofer does help in the bass department. Bass head's will not really get a kick out of these, however it is present, not overpowering and is quite pleasant as it adds more body to your music. However, the sound itself, is rather different to the IE7. You actually do not get a big sound-stage with these earphones, not that I could tell and the sound signature itself was quite different to that of the IE7 and dynamic driver's in general.

It's quite different from dynamic driver earphones and doesn't require any kind of "burn-in", even though it's skeptical to say that any earphone requires that, these earphones sounded great as soon as you take them out of the box.

Overall I'd say that this is a good buy if you are looking to get some balanced armature earphones and is within your budget.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great value for money, 14 April 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a brilliant buy. 4GB of RAM at 1333Mhz for ~30 is excellent. It's fast in my XPS and has given my laptop quite an affordable boost. Beat's paying 150 that Dell were going to charge just to increase it to 6GB.

Really recommend this to anyone looking for a RAM upgrade for their laptop.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Milestone for Motorola and Andriod, 15 Feb 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Wow.

That's all I can say about this phone. I get a lot of stick from people who see me with this and see that it's a Motorola and then dismiss it without even thinking about what the phone actually is.

It's an Android smartphone. Aside from the Nexus one is it probably THE best Android phone that you can get your hands on to date and I fully reccomend it to anyone who wants to get in on the Android bandwagon.

The feel of the phone is solid, a real flagship feel with the soft touch coating that the phone has on the back and a nice weight to it which gives it that premium feel. The screen is gorgeous running the highest resolution not found on any other phone currently on the market at 854x480. Touch screen is super responsive even with a slight touch of your fingers and with the new 2.0.1 update the system itself is quite snappy, with only a little amount of lag but nothing that will hinder use at all. The QWERTY keyboard may take some getting used to by some, but is very funtional and easy to use given its flat look. Feeling for keys isn't a problem and while having a D-pad is not regarded as nessesary by some, it's great when playing certain games or using emulator apps from the store.

Only dissapointment I can say really is the camera. Even though it's a 5 mega pixel camera, the pixel count is not everything if the quality of the image is great itself. While in the day pictures are fine in house lightning expecting to use the picture editing options to brighten the image as any taken will seem as though there are no lights switched on at all. Also the grain found in images taken is a bit too much for this type of phone. My N95 took much better pictures equivilant to that of a point and shoot camera even in low lighting conditions. The same can be said for videos, while they are great in the daytime, don't expect to use it to sneak any shots at a concert. You'll be dissapointed with the results. Also videos are saved in a 3gp container, which i'm not very fond of.

Overall a great phone let down slightly by the camera mainly but otherwise worth it for gadget lovers and those who just want everything lol

Note: Don't expect a great battery life either, with syncing, bit of music, video, web browsing and some application use it should last you a day. Something I've come to expect from smartphones, but it's better than my N95 was. MUCH better.

5.0 out of 5 stars J-Rock at it's finest., 22 Nov 2009
This review is from: Abingdon Boys School (Audio CD)
It has nothing to do with the school based in Oxford, but the name couldn't been better suited for this J-rock band.

First formed in 2005 they debuted with the song innocent sorrow which was used in the opening to the anime D.grayman. Since then Abingdon boys school has escalated in popularity.

This album contains a full tracklist of songs that you WILL listen to over and over again. They are that good and I would reccomend this to anyone who is interested to check them out and all their songs.

With power and depth to their songs a 5 out of 5 for this album and I strongly you check out their latest songs which are just as good.

4.0 out of 5 stars A decent Sub for the Price (UPDATE), 27 Feb 2009
This is a decent sub for small rooms really. So if you want something cheap for the bedroom or any small room in your house then this ought to be fine. One thing to consider though is that you have an amp to power it, as this sub is completely passive and it will cost a bit to get an amp that can pump out 200W @ 8ohms.

The condition my one was delivered in though was pretty bad, as upon arrival I thought that it was dragged through a battlefield. The box it was in was poor and the sub itself inside got a bit of a beating as a result. That didn't seem to affect performance however, but was definitely not a good start when I took the chance ordering this product.

I would not recommend this sub to those looking for something for the home, if your experimenting then it's fine as you could most likely take out the speakers inside (as I've done) and make a better box for them. One other thing, it isn't as powerful as I initially thought, and they may be due to the box design. Again do not buy unless you are experimenting.

(oh and because i can't edit the stars I give it a 2/5)

5.0 out of 5 stars The Great Original System, 26 Feb 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This was Sony's first SKU that launched in the U.K nearly 2 years ago and in my mind is their greatest system. It has everything. Backwards compatibility, memory card slots, 4 USB ports and SACD playback.

It's such a shame that Sony had to discontinue this SKU but if you can pick it up from anyone who dosn't want the 60Gb model I would suggest you take it, as it's well worth every penny you spend.
