Best Time Machine Ever, 22 Oct 2012
I was given this book for my birthday and I haven't been able to put it down since.
As someone who grew up reading "Look-In" whilst chewing a Texan bar and washing it down with a can of Quattro this book holds a Proustian memory for me on every page.
The original wrapper for Freddo the Frog... That commercial for the Trio biscuits... Pacers and Peanut Treets... so many images from my childhood that disappeared without warning. This book brings them back and, as a result, brings my childhood back just for a few brief but enjoyable rose-tinted moments.
Brilliantly written (lots of lines made me laugh out loud) and wonderfully illustrated with well-chosen photographs, I recommend this to anyone who still can't look at a Wagon Wheel without a small tingle of excitement.
