Curtina Harvard Green Quilt Set Double
Curtina Harvard Green Quilt Set Double

5.0 out of 5 stars Good quality, good value for money, 2 Sept. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
These are really nice bed covers, especially for the price. The quality of the material is wonderful, and feels a lot more expensive than it is. The material felt a little rough and hard when I first opened the packaging, but after once wash they went lovely and soft, and they look wonderful in my bedroom. It's really hard to find simple bed covers with only a small amount of design, which I like, but these are perfect for this. The rather neutral colour scheme makes them easy to meld into most room designs as well. Compared to products from other stores at this price point, this bed set is fantastic value for money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good value for money, looks classy., 2 Sept. 2014
For the money this is a really nice iPhone 5/5S case. The leather-effect look is classy and protects the phone well. The edges are cut nicely so the users' ability to push the volume rockers/side switch, camera, earphone socket and power button are not impeded, and the phone sits tightly in the case. The only downside here is that it is quite tight when you first try to fit your phone in, and leaves you worrying that it might scratch the sides of your iPhone. It's not hard plastic, however, and the holder has a soft feel to it so it does not damage the phone. The front flap of the case is also hard, so does not bend easily, which protects the phone well in case you drop it and it lands on the corners.

This item also comes with two screen protectors, one for the back and one for the front of the phone. They both fit the phone well enough, although the rear protector doesn't sit nicely on the metal part of the iPhone, and looks a little messy. This isn't really an issue when the phone is in the case (thought a rear protector in this instance would be pointless anyway), but if you were to use it without the case it doesn't look all that pretty. The front screen protector fits and works perfectly well, and when carefully placed on the phone there are no air bubbles in sight and it sticks really well without coming up on the corners. The stylus also works well enough, although not as well as your finger, and I'm not really sure why anyone would want to use one instead of their finger to be honest, but it's there for the people who do. All in all, this is a nice package for the money.

3.0 out of 5 stars Works well enough, nicely portable, but small niggling issues undermine the overall performance., 17 July 2014
This is a very useful item for charging your portable devices when you are away from a power source. I especially found it useful when I was out camping a few weeks ago, and I took it alongside this larger storage alternative (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00E60TWYA/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0).

Both of these items works in pretty much the same way, but obviously this smaller alternative is more portable and lighter, although the other is still incredibly portable. It has a small flashlight on it, but was a little temperamental, and sometimes didn't light up. The small amount of charge it gives out works fine, but is so small that I'd be hard pressed to recommend this item over the larger storage alternative listed above, especially since they are both around the same price.

For most items today, a battery charger storing 2200mAh is just a little too small, so much so that I only got half a full charge of an iPhone 5, which suggests to me that it actually stores less than the advertised 2200mAh. Unless you are using incredibly small items that require very little battery charge, I would recommend the larger holding alternative, which is still incredibly portable at a size similar to a chunkier passport.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great item, marred by a couple of small issues, 17 July 2014
I was really impressed by this product. It is a fantastic item to take with you in case you are travelling and away from power sources, such as when you go camping. I managed to get 3 full charges of a Sony Xperia Z1 smartphone (a phone with a large battery compared to others) out of this when I went camping a few weeks ago, and it became invaluable throughout the trip. Once I got home I also tested it out on an iPhone 5, and managed to get 5 full charges.

The item is robust, and well built. It's light, and easy to pack away, as well as being very easy to use. The design of the packaging the item came in possibly wasn't the best, it all felt a bit amateur, with numerous spelling mistakes, but none of this bothers me when the item works as well as it does. The screen lights up blue when it is turned on and tells you how much reserve is left in the charger, although I did notice on a couple of occasions that the words/numbers would get muddled up on the screen and make the words illegible. This wasn't really a big issue since it was rectified by turning the charger off and then on again, but is a small nuisance.

The built in torch is a wonderful idea, and gives the feeling that the designers knew their market well. It means that you don't have to fumble around in the dark trying to fit the right connector into your phone/laptop/tablet, etc. The item also came with all the connectors necessary to plug it into any modern phone I can think of, including an adapter for iPhone 5/5S.

All in all, a really great item, with a couple of small issues, but highly recommended for people who are travelling and need a little insurance for the batteries of their portable devices.

5.0 out of 5 stars Useful source for first year undergrad essays, 11 Mar. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I purchased this to accompany me on my first year of an English degree at Edinburgh University, and it has proved very useful. It has been written, and edited, but lecturers and professors of the English department at the university, and as such has proved very helpful for their lectures as well. A lot of the stuff they have taught in class are given more depth when the articles are read from their written essays as well.

This book would also be useful for studenst from other universities too, since it provides an excellent and accessible starting point for credible essay sources. Essays regarding poetry, drama and narrative are all covered over multiple different topics within each literary genre, as well as more broad introductory essays over such as questions as 'What is literature?' as well as others. These are questions which all first year undergraduate literature students will study, so this book proves very useful for this demographic.

The table of contents is clear and concise, and the book itself is not overly large, with it being very easy to find the section you need. The font size is also nice, not too small or too large, and so it makes reading the articles less of a jaunt. I particularly like the section at the end of each essay which provides a list of further related works which you can look up. This is also very useful for essay writing, and shortens the search for sources considerably once you've found the topic you are studying.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product, but requires drivers download, 11 Mar. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I had bought a significantly cheaper ethernet adapter prior to this (which I have also reviewed) which simply would not work, so I ended up having to splash out a little more on this one. Thankfully this one has worked a treat since I managed to get the drivers installed, which brings me to the only issue with this item.

I bought this item, as I suspect most people will, for use with a windows 8 ultrabook which does not have an ethernet port, for when there is no wifi around. It is worth noting at this point that ultrabooks also don't have disc drives, so providing the required drivers to run this ethernet adpater on a disc is most certainly not a good idea. In order to get this adapter to work I had to go to a library with wifi and download the drivers, which wasn't really a problem per se, since I love libraries, but it was a time waster, and a rather annoying diversion just to get the product to work. I guess this is just my fault for getting an ultrabook though.

Anyway, once the drivers were installed the adapter worked a treat, and has continued to work ever since. Wired internet download speeds for me in the centre of Edinburgh through this adapter are at 40mb, so I'm definitely happy with the product and it doesn't seem to slow down the wired internet in any form (as long as it is connected to a USB 3.0 port). Just a quick additional point, I have no idea what the speeds would be like, or whether they would be any different at all through a USB 2.0 port. Just something to bare in mind before purchasing.

1.0 out of 5 stars Does not work, 11 Mar. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Unfortunately couldn't get this item to work on either my girlfriend's MacBook Pro or my Windows Ultrabook, so it had to be sent back for a replacement. The replacement also did not work, which doesn't really bode well for the item in general. I have no idea how this item would run if it did work, obviously, but since I had two that refused to work I wouldn't recommend this item for purchase. It both feels and looks cheap, which to be fair, it is cheap, but I would at least expect it to work. Since there is no branding anywhere on the item it's not even a case of scouring the internet for drivers.

I did, however, buy this (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00C50FSPU/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_5) slightly more expensive one afterwards, and this one has worked perfectly on both mac and windows, so I definitely recommend spending a little extra money and getting something decent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great cover for your 13.3" Ultrabook, 11 Mar. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I got this case for my Sony Vaio Pro 13 as opposed to the official Sony one (which was selling for three times the price), and I am very happy with it. The case itself is very snug, and holds the laptop very tightly, almost too tightly the first couple of times you put the laptop in, since it makes it hard to get the laptop back out. But after a few uses, the case loosened up a bit, and now it is absolutely perfect. I use it to take my laptop to lectures at university, and it works perfectly for this.

It is a lovely leather design, and looks premium in quality. It by no means looks cheap, and protects the laptop very well from scratches and other damage. There isn't a lot of padding, so I'm not sure how much it would protect your laptop if you dropped your bag with the laptop inside, but it would certainly help. The case, as previously mentioned, is also very slim and light whilst providing nice protection for the laptop, so it doesn't add much additional weight to your luggage, or take up too much room in your bag.

I have seen some reviews from people saying it doesn't fit a 13.3" ultrabook, and obviously this is down to which ultrabook you have. But I can definitely vouch for this fitting a 13.3" Sony Vaio Pro perfectly, and I highly recommend this product as fantastic value for money.

4.0 out of 5 stars MEElectronics AF-32 Wireless Headphones, 26 Nov. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
First up, I am going to say that these are the best wireless headphones I have used yet. My previous experiences with wireless headphones has not been great, with the best of the rotten bunch being the Sennheiser RS120 II RF Wireless Headphones. But they used the radio frequency rather than bluetooth and often latched onto other signals such as baby monitors or other radio signals. There was also a lot of interference and buzzing with the radio ones, so to finally get a hold of a pair of wireless headphones which do not suffer from these drawbacks is wonderful. These headphones are considerably better sounding, as well as being more comfortable than the aforementioned pricier Sennheiser's.

These headphones use bluetooth for connection which is crystal clear with no interference at all. I also want to add here that you can listen with these headphones through the supplied wire as well, and I did not notice any sound difference. This is not to the detriment of the headphones, it is a testament to how good they sound wirelessly. I easily managed to connect them up to my macbook, iPad, and iPhone completely wirelessly, and they worked instantly. No installation required at all, and the sound quality out of the box was also pretty good.

Once I tweaked the equaliser on iTunes a bit I managed to get them sounding really good, with a nice heavy bass that did not distort, and reasonably high treble for increased clarity in the high end. I could not, however, get the mid-levels particularly clear. They sound fine, if a little muddy, and they just lack that openness that you find with some other headphones in the price bracket. It's hard to describe without hearing the difference yourself side by side, but by no means do they sound bad; they actually sound considerably better than the wired House of Marley Positive Vibrations Rasta Headphones that cost a similar amount and are getting very good reviews. I would comfortably encourage paying the extra £10 and get these over them because they are far more comfortable and include the ability to listen wirelessly. Even over the wireless they sound better, so this is a real plus point!

The headphones are incredibly portable. They fold up and they come supplied with a bag to keep them in. The bag offers little to no protection, but is still nice to have and keeps them from getting dirty if you put them in a bag with other things. The battery is also excellent, and the headphones themselves look great, if a little plastic. They are a bit of a fingerprint magnet due to the glossy black band over the top, but they are aesthetically pleasing to look at. The ear pads sit on the ear, rather than over the ear, and they are also plastic rather than leather. They are remarkably comfortable and they sit well on your head without slipping off, and are not so tight that they hurt after prolonged use (even if you wear glasses like I do). The only drawback to the ear pads is that they leak a lot of sound, and I mean a lot. Even on mid-low volume others can hear what I am listening to.

That is only a slight negative really to the overall headphones though, but this, coupled with the muddy, enclosed sound of the mid-levels knocks a star off the rating. However, If you are after a pair of wireless headphones I would seriously recommend them. I am quite picky with my sound and have tried a lot of different headphones ranging in quality and price, and these are definitely worth the money. In this price bracket you can get better sounding wired headphones, but not that much better and I doubt most people would even notice the difference. If wireless is your thing, then these are superb and I heartily recommend them over any others you have looked at in this price range or even slightly higher.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really good value for money, 18 Nov. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is an incredibly cheap wireless mouse, and for the price you pay the quality is relatively good. It's not going to win any awards, and it's not going to please everybody, but for the price it is excellent. It works well enough, and once I plugged in the small receiver into the USB port on my MacBook Pro, it instantly worked without any problems. It is responsive, and feels good under the hand (with the mouse itself being the same shape as the official apple magic mouse), and there doesn't seem to be any noticeable lag. It also arrived with batteries which is a nice touch.

I bought this mainly for some short World of Warcraft sessions on my MacBook, and for this it works great. Only two drawbacks: the click of the buttons is quite loud and they certainly feel cheap (as does the mouse in general), and the scrolling wheel is also not all that accurate. It starts out scrolling really slowly and when you pick up the pace on it even slightly it just jumps to the bottom of the screen. There isn't a particularly gradual increase in pace which is a shame. But as I said, for this price you really can't go wrong, and I assume that anyone reading reviews for a mouse of this price are probably not looking for premium quality anyway and so for these people I recommend this item quite highly.
