1.0 out of 5 stars As rubbish as can be rubbish, 13 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Bought this to run 2 Gridseed miners, with the view of adding more Gridseeds later!

In the process of returning this - only 3 ports draw power and other 7 are unpowered. Rubbish for on all accounts.

The advert states this item will be supplied with a "PSU 100-240V 50/60Hz input, 12V/3A output".

Do not believe this, my item arrived with "PSU 100-240V 50/60Hz input, 12V/1.5A output".

Yes, that is half the amps advertised by the company selling the item!

Therefore, no surprise that the most of USB ports don't work!

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointingly LED lights don't work!, 23 Mar 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Bought this item from Amazon expecting a brand new item!

However, I received an item that was clearly a customer return, box had been ripped open by the prior customer and a plastic bag holding the modular cables had ripped open by a prior customer. Not a good start at all! LOL

Being super busy and not having the time to waste doing a return, I decided to plug it up and test it out.

The PSU passed 700watt power pull with no movement on the 12volt rails (measured with a meter), as steady and reliable a you would expect from a top line manufacturer like Antec, who back it with 7 year warranty. Yes, it's an incrediable warranty!

Then, I noticed that white LED lights did not work on fan. Yes, the previous customer had returned due to this defect. Not that this bothered me, as I didn't buy this item for the light show. LOL

Not the new item as described by Amazon, nor exactly in perfect working order. But, still 3 stars due to the length of warranty.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Negative Review is Incorrect, 13 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The poor review of this memory is completely unjustified, because it is based on a general ignorance of how computer components work. He/She has simply blamed the memory, when it clear their motherboard bios program has a coding bug. I suggest they should have updated their bios or contact their motherboard manufacturer to get it resolved on their next Bios Update release - this is one of the reason bios updates are periodically released. LOL

No memory sticks of any company has any access to a motherboard VTT settings, I bought this memory; it does not change any single voltage settings. This is why, I and other people have go into enter the motherboard page to change settings like increasing VTT voltage from its default of 1.05 to 1.125 when overclocking!

Now that this erroneous review (data) has been subtracted from our correct column of reviews it is possible to state with certainty: this memory is flawlessly perfect and perfectly stable in operation.

I bought the Orange/Blue memory sticks, the top lights are really bright. I set this to "Stereo" as opposed to other effects of "Lava", "Streamer" and "Inside Out". Top LEDs have been set to blue and the LEDs under the heatsink have been set to orange; both location are interchangeable.

The two locations for the Orange/Blue LEDs, it becomes pretty clear the outstanding visually impressive location are those beneath the heatsink (daytime), which make the motherboard around the memory sticks glow orange without being able to see the LEDs directly!

Both memory stick have dimmers on them, but when you dim the top LEDs to a more subtle brightness, you lose much of the impressiveness of the LEDs beneath the heatsink. Ideally, the LEDS on top should have been geared 1 level brightness behind those under the heatsink. They are still very impressive when dimmed during nighttimes in the dark.

The temperatures sensors worked flawlessly as well, I ran a small FFTs test; from idle load to peak load the memory rose from 33C to 46C, which means the sensor and heatsink work perfectly. The Ballistic MOD utility is not bundled with memory and you'll need to download it separately.

5 stars, because it is worth every star!

5.0 out of 5 stars Clever inventive music at its Best!, 11 July 2012
This review is from: Army Of Mushrooms (Audio CD)
I've not been listening to Infected Mushroom as long as the other reviewers! Just from the last album "Legend of the Black Shawarma". I have to admit this album is just immense!

The cleverness of music is wonder for the ears to behold. On one track, they actually play make it appear as though the drum beat has flipped into reverse. There are many recognisable Infected Mushroom trademarks from the previous album, which give the listener a re-assuring sense of familiarity the new material.

The "Legend of the Black Shawarma" had many undertones of melancholy in it tracks; this album is awash with undertones of delight and marvel. Many tracks have pleasing surprises and revelations tuck away within them!

An album I've been waiting for! One of rare occasions I've been happy to purchase everything on the album.

A must have buy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth buying just for the Visual Graphics, 26 May 2012
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I'm a late convert to all the hype about this game and I'm using I52500k overclocked to 4.3 GHz and a GTX 560 with this game. Therefore, this game holds no fears for owners of a Sandybridge CPU with a mid-priced graphics car - high resolutions can be consider a norm with this game in these conditions.

This game is on another planet visually to other games that get a console based PC release. Amazing to see and amazing to hear even though the game mechanics is simplistic and unchallenging.

Worth buying just to see what a gaming PC is truly capable! It leaves consoles and it games in the wake of its dust. It is a shame more PC video games are not made to unleash true visual power of a Gaming PC.

A superb visual and audio experience! A cheap buy for PC owners with mid-range gaming PC capabilities! Buy and be visually amazed!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good efficient Cooler, 19 May 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A good efficient cooler, which does the job well and reasonably priced!

Not ideal for AMD systems, because the mounting bracket eliminates the traditional fan cooling layout for PC case cooling. The cooler has to be installed horizontally and the air is blown upwards, which will be a problem for people with fans in roof of cases.

This is not an issue on Intel systems, but another problem occurs? Some of the cheaper Sandybrigde and Ivybridge motherboards have heatsinks close to the mounting holes for the CPU cooler. The mounting bracket of this Titan cooler sticks out by extra 0.5cm, which allows it to be mounted on AMD systems. This means it cannot be installed vertically and you end up having to mount the cooler horizontally. Therefore, the heat is blown upwards as on AMD systems.

I resolved this by trimming off the AMD mounting screw holes on the bracket, but if you don't have a Dremmel tool already, it will give you a rather awkward system cooling solution.

Therefore, only 3 stars! The cooler does a good job at cooling, but attention to detail is lacking in this products design.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Perfectly, 3 May 2012

Always tricky buying audio extension cables: sometimes the sockets don't connect up properly or there is a noticeable drop in sound quality or you get a hissing sound when you're moving the cable.

Belkin has, in my past experience, proved to be a reliable manufacturer of PC bits and bobs. And, this cable is no exception.

Worked perfectly from the start and no faults have developed to date. Top marks again for another Belkin product.

Not the cheapest, but worth buying to get the job done fast.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for SSDs, 3 May 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought this item to house a SSD for a hotswap bay in my PC. I noticed it was half the price of the versions listed for SSDs.

It worked perfectly for this purpose and I've had no problems - a bit of bargin as well!

Easy to install and no regrets.

2.0 out of 5 stars A Slow Film based on Genghis Khan's Fantasy Fiction Life Story, 29 Dec 2011
Mongel
29-12-2011

A Slow Film based on Genghis Khan's Fantasy Fiction Life Story

My main problem with this film is not the slowness of the story, but the fact that is largely a fictional biography that seeks to attribute to Genghis Khan virtue that does not belong to him! Thereby, seeking to tarnish virtues as an objective for human endeavours! Why the writer's of this film have introduced these lies is beyond comprehension.

Firstly, Genghis Khan was never captured, imprisoned, tortured and threaten with murder! Genghis Khan did the capturing, imprisonments, torture and the threats of murder. He did, after all, kill an estimated 40 million people, which is more then the combined death toll of WWI, WWII, the Communist purges and USA wars in 20th century!

Secondly, the Mongol's did not read or write, which is why most of his real life story is missing. Genghis Khan barely read and wrote and none of his people read or wrote to record what he was like. This man had no formal education, apart from practical experiences and oral discussions. You don't need an education to lead an army, torture and kill people! Military tactics have never been sophisticated or complex enough to require a formal education; this is especially true in the past!

Thirdly, his marriage to Borte is not an example of "True Love"; Genghis Khan had many wives and let us not even bother speculating as to how many one off sexual encounters he had! Genghis Khan was a highly sexed womaniser! He married Borte to form an alliance with her tribe (Onggirat). However, because Genghis Khan had so many kids from so many different sexual encounters with women, Borte became the sole Empress and only her children could succeed to the throne.

Fourthly, Genghis Khan was not a religious man - he was a secular leader who allowed any religion to go about its business in his empire. He consulted with Buddhists, Muslims and Christian priests. He showed no interest in his native religion and God had nothing to do with him winning his battles against his brother Jamuha. And, yes there were several battles between the brother's armies before Genghis Khan emerged victorious. Not as the film suggest, one battle were God intervenes with lightening strikes that lead to the surrender of his brother's army! Incidentally, Genghis Khan executed his brother after capturing him - he did not release him as the film suggests!

Therefore, the film "Mongol" should be a film about a Secularist Political Leader who murders 40 million people in his own lifetime, who is a womanising, who can barely read or write and has a fondness for torturing people! However, Genghis Khan's real life does not fit in with the modern psychologist's psycho-babble narrative that Secularist Politicians cannot be evil, sexual frustration makes you a killer, seeking guidance from God means your nuts. Genghis Khan real life proves a secularist political leader can be evil, not having sex has nothing to do with being a killer, education or its lack is an irrelevant factor in evilness and those not seeking guidance from God can be nuts! This film is just a bizarre LSD trip of fantasy fiction, with so little truth that it is akin to Western Comic book. Perhaps, the writers are more childlike than adults as well!

5.0 out of 5 stars AMD wins Value Choice again, 23 Dec 2011
AMD regains the value option with 4100 FX and for those with a very limited budget it makes a reasoned and rational choice.

Firstly, it is cheaper then the alternative 2120, but offers an extra 3%-5% on average for performance.

Secondly, you're not paying for wasted GPU silicon on the CPU when you've got a proper graphics cards for gaming!

Thirdly, unlike the 2120 this CPU can be overclocked up to 4.6 GHz (4 GHz without voltage increases). An easy gain of 27% in performance, which puts it ahead of 980B, which costs an extra 60% over the 4100 price!

Fourthly, Windows 8 2012 release will see an extra 2%-10% gain in performance through more even threading between cores of workloads. This CPU family architecture is specifically designed for servers which have software with even spreads of workloads for the available cores. Desktop PC's tend to have a lot of software that pile workloads unevenly onto cores. Microsoft and AMD are working together to ensure the new OS has more equal loadings, which is where this extra performance will come from.

Mine's is running 4.2 GHz with no problems. No problems with video games with my Asus motherboard. However, I don't use Steam (I do have an account) and GameStop (formally Stardock Impulse) has not shown any of these problems.

A good value choice during these hard times!
