2.0 out of 5 stars Size inconsistency?, 25 April 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Too narrow - I've got another pair of Skechers which fit fine, so their sizes don't seem to be consistent, at least in terms of width.
Refund & returns all very easy though.

4.0 out of 5 stars ... Never Go Back was quite disappointing - it felt like a by-the-numbers short story that had been padded out ..., 3 Sept. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a return to form - I thought that Never Go Back was quite disappointing - it felt like a by-the-numbers short story that had been padded out in the middle to make a full-length novel, but Personal is much more satisfying, with a coherent plot and enough twists to keep you guessing. Very good.

1.0 out of 5 stars I thought V2 was great and I played it repeatedly, 3 July 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I'm surprised at the positive reviews here, particularly in comparison with V2, as to my mind this is nowhere near as enjoyable. I thought V2 was great and I played it repeatedly, so I was looking forward to this new version, but I've got half way through the second mission and I just can't be bothered to play any more as they seem to have lost all the things that made it fun in the first place.

My first big gripe is that the game seems very buggy - you can shoot an enemy and it just doesn't seem to hit them, or you think you've made a headshot or a centre-mass body shot, but they still don't die. In V2 you could wing an enemy and they'd recover and fight back but in this version it just doesn't feel like the game is responding accurately to what you're doing.

My second gripe is that the 'shooting whilst there's a noise' function just doesn't seem to work - you shoot an enemy when the noise sounds, but enemies nearby still seem to be alerted. Or you shoot during the noise but unless it's a clean shot to the head, it doesn't kill the enemy so you're forced to shoot again, but the noise has stopped, so they're alerted. Either way you're forced to relocate after a couple of shots. The whole 'relocation' thing seems to be overplayed, so you can't just sit tight and pick off a whole load of enemies. In the previous version, at the start of the V2 Rocket Facility level for example, you could sit in the observation tower and pick off all the outside guards when the noise sounded - it was still tense as you had to make sure you got your shot in whilst the sound was still masking it. In V3 it just doesn't seem to want you to play like this - very frustrating.

This game is supposed to be about sniping but the opportunities to actually shoot enemies from a distance seem so much fewer than in V2 - there's much more emphasis on stealth - creeping round enclosed areas to try to take out enemies nearby either with hand-to-hand kills or with the silenced pistol. Splinter Cell does this so much better so it's pointless to try to compete. In fact, Splinter Cell Blacklist played with the fully-upgraded sniper rifle is a much more rewarding sniper game than this

I also think that the kill-cam shots are worse in this version - the animations seem a bit clunky and often don't seem to relate to the shot you've just made.

Overall I wish I hadn't bought it - so much anticipation and yet so disappointing!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not good, 25 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Didn't enjoy this at all - I only got as far as chapter 8 before I gave up. It reminds me of a cheap American TV movie, where a bunch of clichés are strung together, and the characters are one-dimensional identikit heroes and villains. Adding lots of 'action' isn't a substitute for being able to create interesting believable characters.

Another great novel from Max Allan Collins - I'll be reading more of the series (already finished all his 'Quarry' series)

4.0 out of 5 stars Does the job, 13 Mar. 2014

This review is from: 12 String Guitar (Electronics)
This 12-string capo seems to do exactly what it should - it's small and light, easy to slip back over the nut to keep it out of the way, and it seems to work very well at keeping the lighter strings on the bass side held down with the required tension

1.0 out of 5 stars Not microfibre?, 22 Jan. 2014

These cloths don't feel anything like the microfibre cloths that you get with spectacles - they are quite coarse and rough, and they don't seem to work like a proper microfibre cloth should - waste of money IMO

3.0 out of 5 stars So-so!, 14 Jan. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is the first John Gilstrap book that I've read - The characters are one-dimensional and clichéd – it reads like a script from a run-of-the-mill TV movie…the female FBI agent who can’t believe the bad guy isn’t going to prison despite an illegal search, the cartoon bad guy who has no personality traits other than ‘evil’, the too-good-to-be-true hero (rich, handsome and a trained killer) and his trusty sidekick (someone to exchange ‘witty’ banter with as they kill people). It wasn’t so bad that I didn’t finish it, but it doesn’t particularly make me want to read anything else by this author.

3.0 out of 5 stars Works ok - image quality average, 15 April 2011

It's very easy to get this working with my Mac - just plug in and it works fine. The image quality isn't great - it tends to get very grainy in low light, but for the money it's good.
