4.0 out of 5 stars Heartwarming tale, 17 Feb 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A lovingly written book that reaches into the depths of anyone who loves cats and has had disappointments in ones life. The power an animal has to encourage you to continue and strive for even more when the chips are down is all here. A great easy read although perhaps not particularly well written.

This review is from: Jerusalem (Hardcover)
I am a huge fan of Otto Lenghi and this book doesn't disappoint. Great recipes, easy to follow and loads of history about Israel too. Highly recommend for vegetarians as well since there are many veg only recipes that are creative and tasty.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Diary, 17 Feb 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I particularly like the additional indexed book enclosed at the back of the diary which is useful for additional information that can be removed if one travels etc. The only failing with this diary is that it doesn't show a mini full month day calendar on each pages which would be extremely useful.

Food Mixer Dust Cover Red - Suitable For All Kenwood Chef and Andrew James Food Mixers
Food Mixer Dust Cover Red - Suitable For All Kenwood Chef and Andrew James Food Mixers
Offered by Andrew James UK LTD
Price: £14.95

3.0 out of 5 stars Serves a purpose, 17 Feb 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The cover is actually too big for my Kenwood mixer and at some stage I will need to trim the bottom by about half an inch as it is too long. ( though definitely better than being too small) - also the cover is not totally red - It has a purple trim along all the seams which makes it look rather garish. I was disappointed that it wasn't totally red which is what I had expected. It serves a purpose and arrived promptly.

Jamie's 15-Minute Meals
Jamie's 15-Minute Meals
by Jamie Oliver
Edition: Hardcover
Price: £12.00

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy on the eye and in the kitchen, 12 Feb 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A typical Jamie production. Slick, simple and easy to follow. At a stage where there is almost an overkill of Jamie books on the market I was at first a little skeptical about whether this book would meet up to expectations. I was however pleasantly surprised. It has clear pictures and easy to follow instructions on how to put together good simple food. Perhaps the constant presentation of food on a wooden board is a bit monotonous and not too practical for keeping food warm but that aside the recipes work a treat. Ingredients sadly are not always readily available outside the major city centers. The assumption that everyone lives near international delis or big well stocked supermarkets is a frequent failing of many chefs today. As to 15 mins prep time, this is similar to his 30 minute series, an exaggeration. Allow at least 25 mins for most recipes unless you are a serious Speedy Gonzales in the kitchen. A great boon for those in a hurry and who appreciate simple cuisine that can be dressed up to look a bit smarter when unexpected guests appear. Also a good gift for aspiring cooks.

Africa: Eye to Eye with the Unknown
Africa: Eye to Eye with the Unknown
by David Attenborough
Edition: Hardcover

5.0 out of 5 stars As superb as the TV production, 12 Feb 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought this book as a gift for my elderly parents after they (and I) had enjoyed the superb Africa series on the television. Their delight when they received the book was limitless. The size, content and quality of this book exceeded all expectations. A great permanent reminder of a series that they enjoyed so much. Being of a generation where they prefer to have a print copy to a DVD it was a super surprise for them. Added to this was the superb value which Amazon offered as its opening price making it a definite winner. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves wildlife or appreciates high quality photographic productions.

Her voice doesn't change, her style continues to impress and the mellowness of this lady is enough to ruffle even the slightest feather on a tough day. A definite winner for any Katie Melua fan.

TTfone Jupiter Big Button Easy Senior Sim Free Unlocked Mobile Phone Panic Button Talking numbers
Price: £30.25

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for older people, 25 Dec 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This phone is outstanding for older people or those who battle with their eyesight. I particularly like the way I could set it up easily with no assistance and the mini torch on it is very practical for night time. The talking confirmation of numbers pressed is also a plus for those unsure if they have pressed the right button or in case the person has misplaced their glasses. Highly recommend it. Good value for money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great gift, 25 Dec 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This tome of a book was a gift from me to my mother for Christmas - Aside from its immense size therefore making it very heavy and sometimes a little difficult and impractical to read particularly for an older person, it is a winner. Informative and a super gift for anyone who is a Royal Family fan. I
