5.0 out of 5 stars A superb gin - and ANOTHER great product from Penderyn, 30 May 2015
This review is from: Brecon Botanicals Gin 70cl (Wine)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is one of THE best Gin's I've ever had.

I've been lucky to have been aware of this gin for quite a while now, ever since its first release a few years ago when I was on a visit to the Penderyn distillery. There was much hype about this blend around the time of its release and this has been validated by it winning the Gin Trophy (Top Award) at the International Spirits Challenge 2014. As well as myself, everyone I know who's tasted this gin has loved it.

The botanicals blend is very different from the reserve blend produced by Penderyn, as it has a mixture of juniper, coriander, citrus and oriental spices as well as a traditional gin mix. The taste is very different to what else is on the market, and while it sounds like a "busy" mix of ingredients, its not too powerful or overwhelming and the taste is very balanced indeed. If you add a mixer the taste expands even further to include the citrus, bergamot, well as hints of cinnamon, clove and saffron, which again are not too overwhelming but add a nice twist to the traditional gin taste.

This is perfect to drink at any time of the year, but is a VERY nice drink to have for the summer BBQs and cocktail parties where the botanical taste seems to work best.

Overall a SUPEB product and one which I'd recommend 100%

4.0 out of 5 stars Great little device, 30 May 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is a very handy usb device,

As well has having 32GB memory to store file, it also alows the transfer to data between a deveice with a Type-A USB 3 connector to a device with a Type-C USB connector - although at present there are not too many of these USB type C deveices on the market. The transfer speed on the USB itself was OK - not fantastic but not too slow either, and the protective cover does a good job of protected the end not in use - although it is impossible to protect both ends at the same time.

At present, this device does not connect to any UK phone, only some tablets, so I'm unable to comment on its upload transfer via USB type C at present, but as a USB device with long lasting appeal, its very good indeed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb product, superb results!, 30 May 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This hair removal system has excellent result, providing you meet the skin and hair types listed in its product drescription. (Generally that means dark blonde, brown and black hairs on white / pale skin, dark skin is NOT recommended).

The Lumea itself is easy to operate and use - press the device onto your skin, wait until the light turns green and then press the flash button to remove the hair. The Lumea has many different settings as well as a bikini line attachment which is easy to apply, simply swap the "gun ends" by a pull and click method and your away to go. The device itself is also well constructed and despite an accidental drop from about 5 meters contiunes to work well, with no damage what so ever (not even a scrape). Best of all the device is wireless which means its very versaile too. The charge time for the device is very short, and battery life also asts long enough for 3 applications on the legs. The instructions state that the best results will come after 6 to 10 weeks, with some noticeable differences straight away, and this has certainly been the case as inital use has proven far more effective than waxing or epilating.

The hair removal process is far less painful than other hair removal methods, but in order to gain the best possible results you MUST follow the instructions, and give the device the 6-10 week time it requires.

Overall a fantastic device, and well worth the investement

5.0 out of 5 stars A great patio heater!, 18 May 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
The heater is superb!

Its fairly light to move around on its castors, but the handle to move it about needs to be asseblmed and attached beforehand. Not a big or difficult job to do, but be aware of this when buying. The gas container compartment is easy to open and "lock" shut, and the gas connector itself is very easy to connect to a gas bottle. The gaps to reach the operating dials themselves are large allowing ease of access to the gas bottle dial.

As for the heater itself - its very, very effective indeed. I've tried this on medium and high, and can safely say that both provide a very good source of hea. On full you can benefit from the heat to an area of about 6/10 meters away from the heater itself. The stainless steel effect also makes it look stylish and modern. Gas consuption is also very good, meaning there's no need top worry about having to refil the gas all that often either.

HOWEVER - and this is a pretty big however, there is no connecting tube or regulator included, depsite what it shows in the pictures. Not a Mojor problem for me personally as I have spares, but be aware you WILL need to buy these seperatley (At a cost of about £5-£10) to get this heater functional.

Overall, a very good heater and well recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid with lots of paper storage space, 18 May 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I got these folders to keep notes while coaching rugby and they do the job well.

The pockets allow lots of paper to be places inside - i managed to get 10 sheets of A4 inside the main bind with no problems. The wallets also held the small scraps of paper securely. The pastic coating of the folder did allow for a bit of protection from the rain, although this was against a quick, fairly light shower. The case of the folder is also sturdy enough to write on, and the clasp is very firm too. Been using if for 3 weeks, and so far so good. Very happy

5.0 out of 5 stars A great set of folders, 18 May 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
These files are superb.

They are sturdy, easy to use and the bind is very firmly afixed. The locking mechanism is easy to open and close, and the metal edging to the files prevents any wear and tear when sliding the file out of its storage box. The box is a great addition, meaning no dust, or other bits and pieces can get in to the file once its been slid in to the box. The plastic catch to pull the file out of the box is another great idea, however, I think it would wear out over time / heavy use.

As with other files of this size, it stores A4 documents easilly, and is wide enough that even if they are stored on plastic wallets they do not hang out of the side of the file, helping to maintain its neat look.

Overall this is a great pack to get if you need to keep lots of documents safe and secure. Would recommend

Ink Jet Remanufactured Ink Cartridge Replacement for Canon - 510 Black
Ink Jet Remanufactured Ink Cartridge Replacement for Canon - 510 Black
Price: £16.21

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth giving a go, 10 May 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This Cartridge fitted my Canon MG3200 3 in 1 printer with no problems, and the print quality was no different from the offical canon cartridges. Both documents and pictures printed off with equal quality and the ink use is also the same compared the canon cartridges after printing off 80 pages of text heavy documents.

The Cartridges themselves come in very economic packaging, but this does not really help to explain why the price difference between the two is not all that great. I can see no serious benefit to using this brand other than saving a few pounds (literally!) and impoving your eco footprint by using remanufactures cartridges. Being as this is NOT availaibe in stores yet, you will need to "plan out" when you need to order this ink if you do decide to go down the eco-footprint route.

Overall, this Cartridge did a great job - equal to the Canon ones and it's slightly cheaper and eco friendly....ish. Worth trying.

Towards the Flame: Empire, War and the End of Tsarist Russia
Towards the Flame: Empire, War and the End of Tsarist Russia

4.0 out of 5 stars A very interesting, and educational read., 1 May 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I enjoyed reading this book, and found a much greater appreication for the Russian efforts at the start of WW1, something often skimmed over by mainstream historians

This s well researched book, with countless sources and books refered to throughout and it focuses on the events of 1914 and the build up to the great war from a Russian perspective, along with the diplomacy involved between Russia and the other great European powers. The real drama of events lies within these ever changing alliances and interactions between statesmen, and I found a potentially tedious series of events very engaging, and very enlightning. The 400+ pages of this book makes it somewhat of a heavy read, but the content matter and the style of Lieven's writing keeps you reading on, and on, and on and the page count simply flies by.

My only major critisism of this book is Dominic Lieven's inability to acknowldge Great Britain as "Great Britian".....instead he simply referes to GB as England through out the book - factually incorrect and VERY annoying if you happen to be of Celtic origin. However I did read a proof copy and hopefully this mistake will be corrected in the final version.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great value if your not in a a hurry to attach and shoot, 1 May 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
These lenses offer good perfomance for the price.

The fisheye ands wide angle lenses worked well with a Galaxy S5, they really did add a good degree of wideness to the shot; however in dusky conditions both were somewhat blurry around the edges. The macro lens generally managed to find focus on a bright, clear day but was less effective in the evening - in fact I tried it at a fooball game under floodlights and It was almost impossible to focus.

All three lenses come a soid small carry case and include a sturdy plastic clip to attach to the phone, however the extra bulk this creates means you cannot not keep the lens on your phone at all times, and putting the phone in your pocked with it attached is impossible. The clip did not scratch the screen on use, but I'm not totally convinced that with repeated useage this would be the case, especically if your clipping the lens on in a hurry.

Overall, not bad for the price, but not really a massive step about a panorama function on a phone, and the clip issue makes me less likely to use this often, or in a hurry
