5.0 out of 5 stars The best Beatles album in the world ever!!!, 10 Feb. 2006
This review is from: Revolver (Audio CD)
This is simply the best album the Beatles ever made!!! From the first song (one of my favourite George Harrison songs-Taxman) to the last (my favourite ever Beatles/Lennon song-Tomorrow Never Knows) this album is my definition of "Killer-No Filler!" In fact, stop reading this review and buy it now-if you are only going to own one Beatles album then make sure that this is it!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth the ride!, 10 Feb. 2006
This review is from: Magical Mystery Tour (Audio CD)
There are some of the best Lennon songs ever written on this album (songs like I Am The Walrus, Strawberry Fields Forever and All You Need Is Love) and this album is worth buying for these tracks alone! This album has been dismissed in the past as being stitched together as a cash in for the film, however almost every song is spot on!

4.0 out of 5 stars Going out in style, 10 Feb. 2006
This review is from: Abbey Road (Audio CD)
WOW!!! Some amazing songs are on this album (i.e. Come Together, Something, Here Comes The Sun etc) and some songs that you will either love or hate (Maxwell's Silver Hammer and Octopus's bloody Garden), however the real treasure on this album is the last song, which is a collection of unfinished Beatles songs all stitched together which all fuse together beautifully. It will blow your mind!

4.0 out of 5 stars An amazing body of songs!!!, 10 Feb. 2006
This review is from: The White Album (Audio CD)
There's no doubt in my mind that if the Beatles had been a bit more selective with their list of songs for the White Album that this would have been one of their greatest (and worth 5 stars), however there is no such thing as a bad Beatles song and there is a real mixture of musical tastes to choose from. There are some of my favourite songs on this album (such as Back in the USSR, Dear Prudence, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Blackbird, etc-the list just goes on!)and one of the most surprising McCartney songs ever-Helter Skelter. I still find it hard to believe that Paul was able to write one of the most bitchin' rock songs ever when I've always favoured Lennon as a songwriter and found Paul a bit "twee" at times, however one listen to Helter Skelter and all is forgiven!!! There are some wierd songs (such as Revolution 9 which sounds like Lennon and Yoko Ono definately must have been tripping when they recorded this song), however this album is essential to any Beatles fan!

5.0 out of 5 stars You must have this in your collection!, 10 Feb. 2006
There are some amazing songs on this album (most of them are John Lennon songs such as "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" and one of my favourite Beatles tracks, "A Day In The Life") and even the majority of the McCartney songs (out of the 2, I much prefer the writing style of Lennon) are spot on as well-"Sgt.Peppers", "She's Leaving Home" etc. This album (along with titles such as "Revolver", "Rubber Soul" and "Abbey Road") is essential, not just to any Beatles fan but to anyone who is a fan of music!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best!, 10 Feb. 2006
This review is from: Rubber Soul (Audio CD)
I am a massive Beatles fan, however there is a core selection of albums that I return to again and again and can listen to from start to finish...and Rubber Soul is one of them. This was the first album where every song was a classic-if you have never brought a Beatles album then this is a really good place to start!

4.0 out of 5 stars Elvis is still the King!, 29 Jan. 2006
This review is from: Hitstory (Audio CD)
For those who have brought the "Number 1's" and "2nd to None" compilation albums this new release will be a little frustrating, as both of these previous releases make up discs one and two with only a 3rd disc offering anything new.
That said, the 3rd disc does have some amazing songs on it and if you haven't brought the aforementioned compilation albums then this is an essential purchase.
There are some amazing tracks spread over the 3 discs on offer; some of Elvis's earliest recordings are here as well as his more popular recordings (over 30 numbers and 59 top ten hits), in addition to the recent remixes of "A Little Less Conversation" and "Rubbernecking." If you've never brought an Elvis CD before then this is the one for you!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Why should I buy this album???, 2 Dec. 2005
There are many reasons why you should get this CD with the bonus disc instead if the the single disc version: a) the single disc is pretty much a rehash of the classic "Legend" greatest hits compilation with a few older and newer tracks added, so it doesn't offer as much value as this limited edition 2 disc. b)If you've never brought any Bob Marley before the 2 disc gives you a lot of tracks from his earlier years that you may never have heard of, however please be assured that there is no such thing as a bad Bob Marley song! c) If you are a die hard fan like me the 3 new tracks (2 remixes and a new song called "Slogans")are worth having, and this 2 disc set has so many great tracks on it!!!
There are a few niggles (the limited edition misses off some essential songs off "Legend", there is no "Turn your lights down low" with Lauren Hill, it would have been nice to have the recent remixes of "Sun is shining" and "Rainbow country" included), however this is still an essential purchase for either the die-hard fans, Bob Marley novices or anyone who only has "Legend"
