Snaptastic!, 15 Jan 2011
Pros: These bands are great fun to use and work pretty well. You can do some exercises with more control and more effect than with simple weights. The door attachment with which they come works well if you want to use it for resistance in that way.
Cons: I would say that for anyone vaguely young and healthy the lower tension bands are of minimal use for most exercises. To begin with they do have a rather pungent rubber smell which you will also notice on your hands after using them.
NOW the BIG PROBLEM! They snap, in potentially dangerous ways, one minute you are happily mid exercise, the next you hear the rush of air, the sound of an effectively giant rubber band hurtling towards you, this all gives way to the burning sting of pain as the snapped end tears into your flesh! Really these things should come with safety goggles for you and any pets in the house! You may wish to hide any priceless artefacts that could be rendered bin worthy or as an alternative make sure you have your home contents insurance document to hand.
Summary: I used these for ONLY ONE MONTH, I'm left with a fatigued black band; and a pretty weak (and therefore useless) yellow band. Before anyone tries to tell me that I wasn't using the product correctly: I was! The problem is as you repeatedly stretch them the rubber fatigues, if you do exercises in which you stand on the band then they will wear away as you use them.
Finally: The seller was of some us when we contacted them about the broken bands they offered to replace them, but in a rather odd way: by buying them on their website. However the postage and packaging is almost the total cost of buying the whole product again.
