How to Clean Everything
How to Clean Everything

5.0 out of 5 stars Best punk rock album of the 90's., 21 Mar. 2007
This review is from: How to Clean Everything (Audio CD)
Forget Punk in Drublic.

Forget Smash.

Forget And Out Come The Wolves.

ESPECIALLY forget Dookie.

Get this one.

This album is amazing. It has the basic Fat Wreck Chords sound (Bad Religion, NOFX and The Descendents all thrown into a blender) but the lyrics are so much more potent and relevant than most bands on Fat Wreck, and they actually make you think. They speak their minds without mercy, and that's another thing I love about them. In one of their songs (it's not on this album though), they bash the hell out of Fat Mike in just three lines, yet they're on the label he owns. Also, they're the only band I can think of (besides the mighty CRASS) that can say 'f**k' every few lines in a song and still manage to sound incredibly intellectual. Fast, loud, independent, smart, and extremely left wing (and extremely vegan. :D). I love 'em! If you haven't heard anything off of this album, I would suggest the songs 'Stick The F**king Flag Up Your Goddamn A** You Son of a B***h', 'Head Chest Or Foot', 'Anti-Manifesto' and 'Middle Finger Response'.

3.0 out of 5 stars 3.5 stars actually - not their best...but pretty good., 2 Mar. 2007
This review is from: Nymphetamine (Audio CD)
It's a bit softer than their other albums, and the songs aren't as fun to listen to either. And the lyrics can be weak at points, but other songs (Guilded C*nt, Nymphetamine Fix, English Fire) make up for that. However, overall, it is not as good as their previous albums or their newest ones. If you're just getting into Cradle, though, this might be a good one to get if you're not accustomed to really thrashy stuff. Then, after this, you can get Thornography and work your way back from Damnation & A Day. So...yeah. This is a good introduction to metal and COF, but if you're already a fan of both, it's got it's strong points and it's (very) weak points...

4.0 out of 5 stars A Suprisingly original hardcore punk masterpiece!, 6 Jan. 2007
This review is from: Art Of Drowning (Audio CD)
Seriously, people. Forget about 'DecemberUnderground'. That album is icky, bland and pretentious. This one is fast, loud, and (oddly) poetic. Also, their punk stuff (from 'Shut Your Mouth & Open Your Eyes' to this one) cannot be immitated. Your band can try and try to mimmick their old sound, but it'll just turn out like crap. Get this CD for the songs 'Smile', 'The Lost Souls', 'The Nephilim', 'Morningstar', 'Of Greetings & Goodbyes' and 'Wester'! Punk fans, you won't be disappointed. New fans, start out with this album and work your way back to 'Black Sails' and 'Shut Your Mouth'. They're much better than that 'DecemberUnderground' stuff...this is real punk rock, unlike that poor excuse of an album! And it's a bit of a let down too, since 'Sing The Sorrow' was actually a damn good ROCK record. Hmmmm...

1.0 out of 5 stars This is absolute rubbish., 15 Dec. 2006

You want some real goth punk?

Go buy T.S.O.L.'s 'Dance With Me'. Go buy anything by The Damned. Go buy A.F.I.'s 'Black Sails In The Sunset' or 'The Art of Drowning'. This is not goth punk. This is just another pathetic attempt at some crappy mixture of modern emo with punk rock, and it is disgusting. This is one of the worst albums I've ever heard. I'm never buying an album on impulse again. That was really stupid.

4.0 out of 5 stars Can't wait for the next Rancid album? Buy some Time Again, then!, 14 Dec. 2006
This review is from: The Stories Are True (Audio CD)
These guys are great. They're so full of energy and passion, and you can most definitely hear it in this record. Nope, there's no doubt that they sure do sound a lot like old-school Rancid, and that Daniel Dart sounds quite a bit like Tim Armstrong, but that doesn't make this record bad. You can tell the band had fun and really enjoys themselves and has a lot of passion, which is always good. So yeah, the only reason it has 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the horrible song 'Junkies' and because Daniel needs to find his own vocal style. Other than those two things, this is a great record that should NOT be overlooked simply because it sounds a lot like Rancid.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is some great Hardcore Punk!, 6 Nov. 2006
This review is from: Free At Last (Audio CD)
Ignore those fake 'hardcore' bands like Comeback Kid and Bleeding Through. This is the real thing right here. First of all, it actually has a punk sound. Comeback Kid and Bleeding Through sound like METAL, not PUNK. Now this is heavier than most punk, but again, this is TRUE HARDCORE THAT ACTUALLY PAYS ATTENTION TO IT'S PUNK ROCK ROOTS. This is HIGHLY suggested for fans of bands like Rise Against, Strike Anywhere, With Honor, Minor Threat, Gorilla Biscuits, Black Flag, Bad Religion (early stuff), Sick of it All, Bad Brainws...basically any one who is a fan of REAL punk and REAL hardcore. Excellent stuff!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hard. Core. Punk. Rock., 22 Oct. 2006
This review is from: Damaged (Audio CD)
It is fast.

It is loud.

It is raw.

It is offensive.

It is awesome.

Henry Rollins delivers the lyrics with such anger and contempt, that it makes your skin crawl. The music is hard-hitting and uncomprimising. The lyrics are insane, and brilliant. This whole album is incredible. A must buy for any punk fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mmmm...thrashy goodness!!, 22 Oct. 2006
This review is from: We're All Doomed (Audio CD)
These guys are a great punk/metal/thrash band. You can barely understnad what the hell they're screaming, but that's what you've got lyrics booklets in the CD's for isn't it? The lyrics are intelligent, witty, and they've got a point. The music is like getting shot in the head, but in a good way. I dunno how to describe it. Just buy the damn album, 'kay kidies?!

2.0 out of 5 stars Their worst album so far., 17 Oct. 2006
This review is from: The Terror State (Audio CD)
The lyrics are sloppily written. The music is boring. Justin sings most of the time and Chris #2 barely sings, and I really like his vocals...more than Justin's. I mean Justin is ok, but his voice is really high pitched so you can get tired of it after 12 songs. :/

Interesting how they release their worst album before releasing their best. Buy 'For Blood And Empire', which is by far Anti-Flag's finest effort. Also, buy their old CDs: 'Die For The Government', 'Their System Doesn't Work For You', 'A New Kind Of Army', 'Mobilize' and 'Underground Network'. But don't get this one. The only song worth listening to on it is 'Death of a Nation'.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best modern punk rock bands., 16 Oct. 2006
This review is from: Canyoneer (Audio CD)
About 90 percent of the music I listen to is punk in some way shape or form, so I know what I'm talking about. The song 'Owner Operator' is absolutely amazing, and it's a great moshing tune. 'Fish Eye Lense' is absolutely perfect for a first single, and it's catchy as hell. Plus in the video, some guy was wearing a Minor Threat shirt. Yes, I'm the only one who would notice stupid unimportant things like that. So anyway, this is a really good album and if you like bands like Strike Anywhere, Bad Religion or Rise Against, this is highly reccomended! 5 stars!
