A relaxed Turin Brakes produce a delightful album, 13 April 2010
Being a Turin Brakes fan for a number of years, I was a bit disappointed with Dark on Fire, their previous album, as I felt it was too different from their previous efforts.
However, after listing to Outbursts almost constantly for the last few weeks, it revitalised my love of this band, and acted as a good link to Dark on Fire.
Musically, it is extremely well written and, while not as 'rockie' as some of their earlier albums, you will be humming along to all in no time.
My only complaint is that it's often hard to listen to the rest of the album as I keep wanting to replay the first track over and over again. From the first few bars, it's undoubtedly Turin Brakes and surely has to go down as one of their finest songs to date.
If you were at all put off by Dark on Fire, buy this and you'll be delighted!
