3.0 out of 5 stars For the completist, 31 May 2010
The enjoyment some of the other Harry movies prevents me from being too harsh here. Honestly it's the worst of the series
Eastwood makes it bearable though. The story is weak and the characters other than Harry are disposable I bought this as part of the collection so in that respect it satisfies the completist in me as a stand alone purchase I couldn't recommend unless you're a completist too

3.0 out of 5 stars Wonder lost, 30 May 2010
This is probably the weakest season. The shows are laboured the early sparkle is definitely gone.Still if your a fan like me you'll watch it thru I suppose that's what genuine fans do support thru thick and thin.At the price it's worth buying to complete the series you never know maybe you'll find something you like here and I hope you do

5.0 out of 5 stars Equal Sequel, 30 May 2010
It's nice to see a sequel that matches it's predecessor.Harrys back made a little mellower than before probably a studio attempt to quell the accusations unjustly levelled at the first movie. Here someone is removing criminals the courts can't
You think this would please Harry but now he sees it as vigilantism rather than justice. This is a great movie more now with the new hd print good clarity good sound and some decent extras including an excellent commentary by John Milius make this disc a must have

4.0 out of 5 stars Life goes on....., 30 May 2010
This review is from: Dear John - Series 1 [DVD] (DVD)
so the title song tells us.Life without this show has been too long.A true classic from John Sullivan though maybe not considered so by some judging by the wait for it's release. There are brilliant characters here John the down trodden teacher who appears as dull as dishwater yet you can't but love thanks in the main to an excellent Ralph Bates performance.Kirk St
Moritz super spy and part time sex god.Louise the course leader whose problem anaylsis always take the one track. The deviance for Sullivan here is the show is character driven rather than catch phrases of only fools or resident wide boy like del or vince in Just Good Friends both excellent shows in their own right but the change in style here is refreshing and displays
Sullivans'versatility. The show has aged fairly well and still very funny almost 25 years on. So sign up for the 121 club
and laugh your troubles away

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast Eddie Butch and a lawyer named Frank........., 27 May 2010
....all star in this nifty little box set.Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid must be one of the coolest westerns ever great chemistry between Newman and Redford and excellent cinematography an adventure well told The other two movies Newman plays rather darker characters the self obsessed pool shark Eddie Felson a role he would later win an oscar for in the sequel Color of Money. The hustler is Eddies' first foray into movies and while not a bad character lovable he sure aint. The third movie sees Newman play an ambulance chasing alcoholic lawyer given a chance at redemption by winning an unwinable malpractice case another unlikeable character given empathy by Newmans' abundant charisma. Each movie has extras all have commentaries not a bad package for the price

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic 70's, 27 May 2010
This review is from: Rollerball [DVD] [1975] (DVD)
A glimpse into a brutal future tensions released and relived viscerally in the rollerball rink. Caan is Jonathan the leading exponent of the game . He meets deadly opponents each same and dispatches them with ease. Now he meets his deadliest opponent in corporate chairman John Houseman.Former rodeo rider Caan and elder statesman Houseman are excellent in the lead roles
Caan the all conquering jock and Houseman the clever and manipulative villain. An exciting violent tale with surprisingly good extras for a movie almost 40 years old.A word of warning don't be tempted the remake stick to the original you won't regret it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Shining Knight !!!!!!, 27 May 2010
A nice collection of cartoon sorry anime episodes chronicling the development of Batman. Some good some not so the first in particular dealing with the urban myth of Batman isn't great. It's in the same vein as one of the nineties cartoon Batman Legends of the Dark Knight included here as an extra. It doesn't really work and the other episodes can be enjoyed without it.
All episodes look great and in general it is a good watch the extras package is great with a selection of Batman the animated series and a Bob Kane doc Batman and Me all said a good collection and a few hours well spent if your a bat fan

4.0 out of 5 stars 80's classic, 26 May 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This movie must almost have cult status now.An ok movie followed by a desperate tv spin off. Finally it's on blu ray it's worth the wait for my favourite scene when Murphy appears from under the bridge to demolish the police cruiser. The movie reflects the paranoia of the time as one of it's themes however I don't remember this being a major part of the advertising campaign on it's cinema release maybe I'm wrong.Still it's a great action movie and as usual the late Roy Schneider is fantastic
one little gripe some of the night scenes are a little grainy but we can live with that can't we?

Wonder Woman: Season 1 [DVD] [2005]
Wonder Woman: Season 1 [DVD] [2005]
Dvd ~ Lynda Carter
Price: £8.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Enemies of Uncle Sam beware, 25 May 2010
brilliant slice of 70's hokum albeit set during ww2.Wonder Womans origin and subsequent nazi busting adventures are presented here with tongue firmly in cheek. Probably not as popular as season two set in the late 70's but still an intriguing mix of action camp, nazis spaceman and of course Wonder Woman herself. The set is good fun and worth the price.

The Untouchables - Season 1: Volumes 1 and 2[DVD][1959]
The Untouchables - Season 1: Volumes 1 and 2[DVD][1959]
Dvd ~ Robert Stack

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic crime series..., 25 May 2010
...are few and far between. For it's time this one's brilliant.Nowadays we're spoiled with all the 'police procedural'shows
and very good they are in general. The Untouchables is no relation to these shows other than being a crime show also.It portrays a violent era in American history admittedly with much creative licence. However it does so with flair and style
quite unusual for the time. Thirties reporter Walter Winchell delivers snappy narration in machine gun fashion.Robert Stack
plays hero Ness square jawed no nonsense all American good guy determined to bring down Al Capone. The picture print is quite clear and sharp the sound ok the stories themselves however historically inaccurate never fail to entertain. The real Ness never
got to see the show or indeed the book it's based on published sadly he died of a heart attack in 1957.This is a good set and well worth the current asking price
