5.0 out of 5 stars Bright and beautiful, 7 Feb. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
If you have a young child who likes painting, you will soon discover that buying paint in small quantities is Not An Option, so I was delighted to find this bumper pack of twelve 600ml bottles selling at a sensible price.

The colours supplied (including white, black, cerise, royal blue, lime green, grass green, yellow, orange, purple and brown) were all bright and appealing. The paint is of a good consistency and washes off surfaces and clothes relatively easily, although it's always worth attending to dark colours sooner rather than later!

My daughter has had great fun using these paints, and I have enjoyed looking at the colourful pictures that she has made with them.

Magnetic Memo Pads - 'Make Yourself at home.Clean my'

5.0 out of 5 stars A cheery messenger!, 7 Feb. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Tired of forgetting vital items on trips to the supermarket, I thought a magnetic pad which attached to the fridge might aid the process of making a list. I felt that the slogan 'Make yourself at home! Clean my kitchen' summed up my attitude to housekeeping quite well, so this colourful item made its way into my Amazon shopping cart.

I was very pleased with the purchase. Two magnets on the back of the pad meant that it stuck to the fridge firmly. The paper quality was fine, and all the sheets stayed in place throughout the life of the product. The smiling lady and her sassy message cheered up many a dull trip to the fridge, and I was quite sorry to see her go when the last list was written. Still, all good things must come to an end!

I bought these spatulas for my young daughter for spreading glue or paste in small quantities. They are a good quality, no sharp edges, and the spreading edge is flexible without being flimsy. My daughter has found them easy to use, and the bright colours add to their appeal.

5.0 out of 5 stars A quality product, 7 Feb. 2015

I was very satisfied with the quality of this product - the board is thick enough to offer some protection to the contents and to keep them flat. The 'peel and seal' method of sealing makes them very easy to use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sparkle and shine!, 7 Feb. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I was looking for some cheap bling for my four-year-old daughter to complete a craft project and was delighted to discover this 100g mix of sequins and spangles selling at a competitive price. Most of the pieces in the mix are on the larger side - 10-15mm or more in diameter - so they're not good for fine work, but great for covering large items. There's a good mix of shapes included - leaves, shells, flowers, stars, circular and oval discs and flower shapes as well as some smaller, more conventional sequins.

Santa's Workshop Sticker Book
Santa's Workshop Sticker Book
by Fiona Watt
Edition: Paperback
Price: £5.99

4.0 out of 5 stars Stick with Santa!, 7 Feb. 2015
In the busy run-up to Christmas, it's always good to have some festive distractions for the younger members of the household, and sticker books are always a popular choice. Beautifully illustrated by Stella Baggott, Usborne's 'Santa's Workshop Sticker Book' has thirteen scenes for children to add stickers to:

- Letters to Santa
- Making Toys
- Toy Testing
- In the Storage Room
- Wrapping the Presents
- Reindeer Stable
- Santa's Office
- Checking the Sleigh
- Baking Treats
- Afternoon Off
- Party Time
- Elf Village
- Thank you, Santa

All but the last scene are spread over two pages, allowing plenty of room to add the stickers provided. There is also a short paragraph of text to accompany each picture, so you can read through the book when you've finished sticking.

Over 300 stickers are included with the book, which is more than enough to do the job. They are organised so that it's clear which ones are meant for which pages if this matters to you! Do also be aware that they don't come off again once they're stuck down, so you can't alter your designs once they're done.

My four-and-a-half year old really enjoyed completing this; she did tear one or two of the stickers getting them off the backing due to their size and shape, but for the most part they were easy for her to do on her own and she also had fun looking at all the pictures when she had finished them.

4.0 out of 5 stars A hundred and one reasons to buy this great doorstop, 23 Sept. 2014
Spottie, or Pongo as we like to call him, has been a great addition to our spare bedroom. He looks smart, he's very cute and he does a great job of stopping the door from slamming onto the wooden bed frame. He doesn't need feeding or walking and he doesn't make me sneeze!

Unlike some of the other dogs in the Dora Designs range, Pongo is not a great friend for small children, as he has a wooden pole running up through his neck to keep his head on. Being a light colour, I also find that he attracts the dust quite a bit, so he does need regular cleaning. Apart from these small niggles, he is a great addition to the family, and would make a great gift.

Maisy Goes to Work

5.0 out of 5 stars It's off to work we go!, 6 May 2014
This review is from: Maisy Goes to Work (Paperback)
My daughter loves Maisy, so I was pleased to find this Maisy sticker book. It's written in a similar style to the Maisy story books, but the narrative invites toddlers to complete the pictures themselves.

The book contains a sheet of about thirty stickers plus seven scenes to complete - Farmer Maisy feeding the lambs; Doctor Eddie and Nurse Tallulah; Charley and Cyril baking cakes; Maisy diving for treasure; Fisherman Charley; Fireman Cyril and Maisy flying a plane. Each scene is captioned to help your child think about which stickers should be added to the picture (“Find “Dr Eddie’s bag. Dress Nurse Tallulah.”)

The stickers are mostly a good size and fairly easy for little hands to peel off, but do be warned that they are not reusable. My daughter has managed to remove a few, but then they wouldn't stick back down again. I found it was worth spending a few minutes on my own looking at where the stickers were supposed to go before starting the book.

In terms of overall value, this book has been a hit. Even though it only took my daughter about half an hour to look through the book with me and stick the stickers on, she derived great pleasure from doing this, and she has had great fun looking through the finished book too.

5.0 out of 5 stars OMG, I love these! FYI - they're great!, 5 Nov. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Taking time away from work to look after my young daughter, one of the things I really miss is the thrill of the office stationery cupboard! Pining for a Post It, I turned to Amazon and was delighted to find these tongue-in-cheek little sticky notes. Six pads, each containing 40 notes and each with a fun acronym to decipher:

- WTF (What's This For?)
- ASAP (As Slowly As Possible)
- OMG (Officially Meaningless Garbage)
- FYI (Frequently Yawning Inside)
- BTW (Beginning to Worry)
- TMI (Too Many Idiots)

In no time, I was able to recreate the joy of office life in the comfort of my own home, labelling everything from junk mail (OMG) through to my list of chores (FYI). All I need now is a dodgy biro and a stapler that doesn't work, and I'll be living the dream!
