5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant, 16 Aug. 2013

Cunningly and cleverly written. The threads of life in Acre, France and England woven together to hold and entrance the reader. At the end another twist of the tail. You'll thoroughly enjoy this read.

5.0 out of 5 stars A worthy installment, 29 May 2013

Brilliant new book in the series. It captures really well the tensions that must have ran in England at this time. The murder plot was so well written that it kept me guessing right to the end. If you intend to buy one book this week, buy this. I can guarantee you'll buy the rest of the series.

The Council of the Cursed (Sister Fidelma)
The Council of the Cursed (Sister Fidelma)
by Peter Tremayne
Edition: Paperback
Price: £8.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Slave trade, 12 Dec. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This back drop to this novel is the slave trade. Not only that but the dispicable way in which the wives and children of clergy were sold into slavery, thus tidying the way for a celibate priesthood.

Shameless, yes. Hard to believe, no doubt. A real eye opener.

Then there is the solving of the murders and its all brilliant.

Traet yourself - it will be a treat.

The Spider's Web (Sister Fidelma)
The Spider's Web (Sister Fidelma)

5.0 out of 5 stars I didnt see that coming, 12 Dec. 2012

This Fidelma novel she's a light on how Bréhon law deal with those in society who couldnt look after themselves its truly amazing.

The novel hinges on the idea that we aren't always what people think we are.

A young boy is charged with two murders. He cannot see, hear or speak so how does he proclaim his innocence? Fidelma finds a way for him to communicate and the things he reveils are both unbelievable and true.

Not one to miss.
