Replacing long-lost Vinyl LP's by digitally re-mastered CDs brings back good memories.
The recent death of Dave Brubeck brought home just how much I missed this LP.

3.0 out of 5 stars Chaotic Chronicle!, 8 July 2012

This review is from: Bone by Bone (Paperback)
I'm about half way through the book which was reviewed (German Version) on German Radio(WDR2)It sounded interesting and in fact it is interesting with a fair deal of suspense. I don't rate it as a "Page Turner" however. I find the jumps from character to character, historic/biographic event to event, chaotic and confusing.

. . . overjoyed with this CD. My original Vynyl LP got lost/Nicked over the years, and so,
I was extremely grateul to have found it on Amazon. The music, interpretation of Bizet, and the masterful
improvisation by Barney Kessel, Andre Previn, Vic Feldman and all is a superb example of the 'Modern Jazz' of the 60's.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another victim of 'Dubya's Crusade!, 2 Jun 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Zeitoun (Paperback)
Heart-warming but Heart-tearing story of one (double)victim of Hurricane Katerina and George W. Bush's 'Crusade' the War on Terror. The latent racism apparently endemic in US society manifests itself, eloquently and touchingly narrated by Dave Eggers in a gripping "can't put it down" Drama-Docu.

4.0 out of 5 stars "No wonder she had to go!", 5 Mar 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Putin's Russia (Paperback)
Having now read most all of the book it is obvious that the 'nomenklatura' had to find a way by which to restrict her investigative journalistic activities. How did the 'West' manage to get it so wrong over the post-Soviet era? Were we all too (Post-)War weary?
The sad, day-to-day 'chicanery' of the Russian people by its political and judicial 'elite'is almost beyond belief, its exposure cost not only A.P., but numerous other journalists their lives.
If one is searching for that mythical 'Russian Soul,' one can only recognise it via the suffering of its people in "Putin's Russia!"
