2.0 out of 5 stars
Does the job, sort of, 1 Feb 2013
I couldn't give it 5 stars because there is no timer option, would be ideal to set it at 30-40 minutes instead of having to hit the remote when it stops. Also it has a remote, yet all it can do is turn it on or off when it should be able to access all of the functions on the mobile itself like change the music, turn off the lights, etc.
Otherwise it's pretty good, baby can fall asleep to it if the mood strikes him, previous mobile was a wind-up so this is light years ahead of that.
Knocking this down 2 stars after 3 months for the following reasons.
- Inability to play the projector and the sound without the mobile spinning. I thought this would be ideal to save batteries but taking out the mobile attachment doesn't mean those gears stop spinning, they still do. And once the baby can reach the mobile you have to take it down anyways, so you would think the option of projector and sound only would be an obvious setting.
- Remote is just about useless when it should be the most useful thing. Considering the ninja like tactics it takes to keep a baby asleep going up right next to the baby's ear to flick a switch or hit a button is a pure design flaw and asking for an unexpected and upset baby waking up on you.
