This game has you cast as a computer specialist who finds himself hired for a mysterious mission. Your employer (the corporation) subsequently terminates your employment by detonating a bomb in the room you are in. Rather than killing you, it plunges you into an underground world ruled by a deadly computer hacker.
This setting should have veterans of system shock and other cybterpunk titles licking their lips. Unfortunately the actual game doesn't live up to it.
Gameplay is very very slow. The quests have you trailing from one end of the map to the other with little ingenuity required, except when I had to hack my savefile in order to complete one which was either bugged or very poorly designed.
There is also no option to invert the Y-axis of the mouse - a glaring oversight. A patch to correct this was promised in 2005, and has still not been released!
It is difficult to judge combat, given the lack of Y-axis inversion, but overall I thought it was poor.
Overall it compares poorly to other games of the same genre such as Deus Ex 2.
If you do decide to buy it, prepare to be distinctly underwhelmed.
