5.0 out of 5 stars Chances of this game being incredible are 100%!, 17 Dec 2011
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
I recieved this as a gift along with a 3DS with OoT 3D and The Black Eyed Peas Experience. It kind of got left out as the 3DS amazed me with it's nifty functions and the incredible addictiveness of the Black Eyed Peas game. I didn't find much time to sit back and enjoy Skyward Sword. It was definetly a game that you needed a few hours of spare time for, and in the lead up to Christmas, there wasn't a whole lot of that going on. I played the game for about half an hour when I recieved it, and quickly played through the first part in Skyloft. It was quite good fun but wasn't absolutely Earth-shattering-with-awesomeness.

A few days after that I had quite a lot of spare time to kill so I prepared myself for a good long session. That good long session, has become one of my fondest gaming memories. The game really starts in the forest section which was fun, rewarding, exciting, and with the addition of the Kikwis, adorable. The areas and scenery are beautiful, but in a different way to OoT and TP.

The story at first might seem basic, but I found it to get more interesting as the game went on. There weren't many deep back stories of other characters like there were in Majora's Mask though, which was a bit of a shame as that made Majora's Mask much more interesting to play. I won't tell you the story, as it reads like every Harry Potter book in order read all the way through.

The controls weren't fantastic. It seemed like the developers needed to find a way to motion control everything I can imagine somebody at Nintendo saying "Hmm, scrolling through menus. How can we motion control that guys?". The item selecting menu is fiddly and irritating and it takes too long to select an item, which is especially annoying when fighting enemies. However the sword mechanics work quite well. The beetle item is controlled perfectly and is very fun to use.

I do have a few complaints though. One is that some of the character's faces are absolutely grotesque, especially Link's which might put off a few people from playing. However, the biggest niggle I have is the new companion/helper/assistant/call-her-what-you-feel-like-ist, Fi. She seems to be some kind of computer with a massive database of information on dungeons and enemies. It might sound cool, but because of this she has no personality and is boring. I really didn't like her soft voice talking gibberish, or the purple glowing text box she had and the way she popped out and flew around. Midna and Tatl were much better companions as they had a personality.

This is a really good Zelda game, but it breaks my heart to say that there are some quite major problems that stick out like a burning thumb. Perhaps I'm being a bit too harsh. This is still a really fantastic game. How shall I explain this, is it the best Zelda ever? No. Is it quite close? Yes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just, very nearly as good as Arular, 9 Dec 2011
This review is from: Kala (MP3 Download)
If somebody ever asked me what my favourite album by a solo artist was, the answer would be M.I.A.'s previous album Arular. Never before had I heard an album in which every track was fantastic but they were all varied and different and it was hard to pick a standout track. This is very nearly just as good. But there's one thing wrong, some tracks are just not that good. Then there are fantastic songs that stand out. What happened to the creativity or the uniqueness, or the greatness? Oh well, perhaps I should stop complaining and get into the album. First track please!

Bamboo Banga - 9/10
Bird Flu - 6/10 (In my opinion, the worst track on the album)
Boyz - 9/10
Jimmy - 10/10
Hussel - 9/10
Mango Pickle Down River - 8/10
20 Dollar - 8/10
World Town - 8/10
The Turn - 7/10
XR2 - 9/10
Paper Planes - 10/10 (A masterpiece. Best track on the album)
Come Around - 7/10

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic and original, 2 Dec 2011
This review is from: Arular (MP3 Download)
I have loved Bucky Done Gun and Galang so I was interested in this album. I finally recieved it and immediately gave it a listen, and it was brilliant! I'm not sure what to say about it review wise, but every track stood out and there is not a track I could not see as a single. Well, maybe not the skits on the album but they are addictive and fun. Definetly my favourite M.I.A. album and one of my favourite albums ever. My favourite tracks are Pull Up The People, Bucky Done Gun, Fire Fire, Amazon, 10 Dollar and Galang. That's a lot of favourite tracks but the album is just that good!

1.0 out of 5 stars About as much fun as staring at a blunt nail, 2 Dec 2011
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
Oh no! I just bought this game and someone stole my DS! Don't worry. It seems to work on my NES so I'll play it on that. Oh wait. That is my DS all along. This game looks like an NES game and I got confused. How can games like Ghost Trick and Nintendogs look great and this game look horrible? Nintendo are putting lots of effort into this game! As long as you don't know what the word effort means!

In this game, Mario speeds through 8 bland worlds! Each of which takes around 10 minutes to finish. Hold > on the D-pad and hammer the A button to jump to speed through each level, and then fail to shoot fireballs because the X button is out of reach. That's it. That's the game. The game that lasts just under 6 seconds. Empty boxes have more content than this...

I'll tell you a cheaper alternative to this game. Pick up a brick, put it on a table, and then pick it up. That's will give you more entertainment that this piece of crap masquerading as a DS game.

1.0 out of 5 stars Another load of Mario crap, 2 Dec 2011
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
There have been tons of awful Mario games since the release of the boring and bland Super Mario Bros, but they all had one positive in common, none of them made you want to chuck your guts up all over the controller. But luckilly, Nintendo's new "masterpiece" has come to "adress this hole in the market"! Maybe I should just stay sarcastic all the way through the review. Nope, I don't think I can.

Nintendo are obviously getting lazy with the Mario franchise. They can't seem to be bothered to create quality fun, so they just create a load of garbage that happens to have Mario's ugly face on the cover and sell it to gullible idiots who will just buy it because it features Mario.

I cannot think of a single positive of this game. The graphics are slightly worse than an early N64 game, the music was random notes and a very young child messing around with a violin and the game was incredibly boring (mostly due to the level design) and I had to force myself to keep playing. The worst enemy in the game was the controls. The control stick never responded correctly and in the way you would think it would and the jumping was broken. Worse still, sometimes you need to walk on the bottom of planets, a perilous realm where the chance of Mario doing what you want him to is very slim! You are doomed! Yes, when you walk on the bottom of planets, the controls invert, which gives you a headache, confuses you and makes you want to throw up. But as far as I'm concerned, this game deserves to be thrown up on.

This game is the worst game I have ever played. Avoid at all costs.

But there's one good thing about the game. The box might make an interesting piece on the walls of ecaped mental patients.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Gotta Feeling that Everything's Wonderful in this game. Well, nearly..., 30 Nov 2011
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
The Black Eyed Peas are my favourite artists, so I was really looking forward to this game. I recieved it as a birthday gift so I got right into playing. The game is a dance game, much like Just Dance and is very similar to the Michael Jackson game. The first song I played was Imma Be, which is in fact, my favourite song. The choreography was strange and complicated, the pictograms were vague and small, much like the dancers (only they weren't vague of course, just small). However that was one of the more difficult dances in the game and I have got used to the small size of the dancers. The pictograms are more like hints on the next moves.

I have definetly enjoyed the game more by playing the easier dances. My favourites in the game are Hey Mama, Fashion Beats, Disco Club and Everything Wonderful. Ever heard of the last three? No? Oh well. The game has most of the Black Eyed Peas' biggest hits (the only ones missing are Where Is The Love? and Request Line), but then there are some weird songs that were never singles and even some of the Black Eyed Peas' biggest fans might not recognise them. How many people can say they know the song Take It Off by the Black Eyed Peas? I'm surprised they didn't put Shake Your Monkey on there. I did actually recognise all the songs in the game though so it isn't much of a problem for me

I have played this game a lot recently and some of the dances are very addictive. However, the choreography in some of the dances is difficult, and some players might be put off because they can't do their favourite BEP song correctly. Also, the game has a strange track list with some obscure songs. It's still a very fun game though and is highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great track from /\/\ /\ Y /\, 20 Nov 2011
This review is from: Xxxo (MP3 Download)
While M.I.A.'s recent album /\/\ /\ Y /\ was, well, quite difficult to listen to all the way through (it was by no means bad though), this is excellent and incredibly addictive. One of the highlights from /\/\ /\ Y /\ along with Teqkilla, It Takes A Muscle and Space.

3.0 out of 5 stars This album is like a balloon..., 12 Nov 2011
This review is from: Circus (MP3 Download)
Yes. A balloon. For at the beginning of the album, the balloon is fully blown up for people to look at and go ooh. But round about...

"Mmm papa love you mmm papa love you"

...it deflates. Then it pops completely at about...

"I get amnesia when I'm standin' next to you"

Now everything from Womanizer to Blur is great, and if I listen to this album, those are the tracks I replay. In fact, I'll rate those songs.

Womanizer - 8/10
Circus - 9/10
Out From Under - 9/10
Kill The Lights - 8/10
Shattered Glass - 8/10
If U Seek Amy - 10/10 (The best track on the album in my opinion)
Unusual You - 7/10
Blur - 9/10

Now look at my scores from Mmm Papi to Amnesia.

Mmm Papi - 4/10
Mannequin - 2/10 (Genuinely sinister and creepy. Tied with Amnesia as the worst song on the album)
Lace And Leather - 6/10
My Baby - 5/10
Radar - 8/10 (Good but copied and pasted from her last album and I had to presume it took hardly any effort to get in on here)
Amnesia - 2/10 (Two songs about memory loss on the same album. What are the chances?)

As you might be able to tell, the last six tracks on the album seem to have been rushed. Radar on this album seems to confirm this. It's as if Britney was saying "I couldn't be bothered to record any more tracks so I've put this one on to make the album seem longer." great!

It's basically up to you whether you buy this, but approach the last few tracks with caution!

5.0 out of 5 stars This song's level of brilliance is amazing, 12 Nov 2011
A five star review doesn't do this song justice. It's better than amazing. I can only describe it with the word epic.

Even if I haven't heard the original song, I can already tell that this is one of Nero's best songs/remixes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly good!, 12 Nov 2011
This review is from: Countdown (MP3 Download)
Wait, is surprisingly spelt right? Oh who cares? The point is this song is great. I wasn't expecting much after Run The World, which really impressed me with how bland and forgetable it was, and Best Thing I Never Had which made my ears weep blood. This is great. I can't really tell why but it just is. One of my favourite Beyonce songs. Out of 10 I'd give it 9.
