Akhenaten's Alibi: Book 5 of Meredith Pink's Adventures in Egypt
Akhenaten's Alibi: Book 5 of Meredith Pink's Adventures in Egypt
Price: £2.60

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent as usual, 5 Aug 2014

Fiona Deal continues to explore both modern Egypt in all its turmoil and the parallel chaos of the Amarna period.
The pacing is quick, the characters are believable and Egypt is vividly portrayed in both time periods.

5.0 out of 5 stars scrummy, 4 July 2014

The best laundry book so far, takes the mick out of computer manager technobabble, the civil service and almost everything ever written about ...... No I won't spoil it but the clue is in the title.

You are compelled and commanded to read it NOW

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent book from a new direction, 2 Jan 2014

This review is from: The Tournament (Kindle Edition)
I like Mr Reilly's books, most are a breathtaking rampage with huge characters and fine plots. This one isn't - it's a historic whodunit set around a plausible but fictional event.

It is well done and will probably prove to be a new area for him to explore.

IF it had the "naughty bits" toned down a bit it would make excellent reading for younger readers, as it puts European history and Muslim history into context in a single timeframe.

Destiny's Choice (The Wandering Engineer Book 3)

5.0 out of 5 stars very good, 29 Dec 2013

I've seen the wandering engineer series for while and finally jumped in, the books are excellent.
Also Long, interesting and well worth reading.

The authors notes state that he isn't great at editing and proofing, he wrong - for self published books of this length they are very good.

Please keep going with the series, they are good reads.

5.0 out of 5 stars loved it, 24 Dec 2013

Classic Dredd and from a golden age of 2000AD too, I do like these slightly lighter stories.
A subtle shading of lighter grey amongst the black, ultra black and deepest horror black that tends to be most great Dredd.

Subsmash: The Mysterious Disappearance of HM Submarine Affray
Subsmash: The Mysterious Disappearance of HM Submarine Affray
Price: £5.99

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent factual and timely, 20 Dec 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
All the facts but no attempt to "join the dots" and reach a definitive conclusion but this is a good thing.

The loss of Affray is well placed and the 1950's British world is well described, but above all the mystery is allowed to remain unsolved - as it should be.

A well written book.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent work by a serious thinker, 31 Oct 2013

I've been reading Rabbi Rosen's blog for a little while now and his writing on a whole range of topics is brilliant, this book continues in the same style. It looks at faith in the modern world and it makes you think.

I would recommend it to anyone with an interest in faith, from any religious viewpoint but also for those atheist and agnostic thinkers who want a better understanding of those on the other side of the argument.

Captain's Share (Trader's Tales from the Golden Age of the Solar Clipper Book 5)
Price: £3.32

5.0 out of 5 stars welcome back, 27 Oct 2013

As with all the solar clipper tales this is really excellent.
Well written, good story telling and very three dimensional characters.

Nathan Lowell is a master story teller and the solar clipper tales are classics.

AGFA Selecta 14 Digital Camera (14.1MP, 15x Wide Zoom) 2.7 inch LCD

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent camera - great price, 2 Sep 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Excellent photo quality, very good features but easy to use.
Also the price and look of the camera make it a ridiculous bargain.

Also uses ordinary AA batteries (or rechargeables), which separates you from yet another charger.

Used it for first time at a wedding and it was excellent
