3.0 out of 5 stars Too annoying, 23 Mar. 2011
Whilst I enjoyed the book..a fairly light, easy going read..nothing complex or difficult, the lead character is just too blooming annoying..his exchanges at the start off with Alison are just childish, and this generally follows on throughout the book..other than that, not bad

4.0 out of 5 stars good return, 7 April 2010
This review is from: Oversteps (Audio CD)
Yes I agree it's definatly one of their best for awhile now..I've owned all Autechre's albums, but only retain 3 having sold the others off due to extreme noise terror..the 3 I now have are their first one,tri repeate++ and oversteps....this album really draws you in,and by the end you feel like you've been sucked into a really complex set of sounds and tunes...it's not a tri repeate but it ain't too far..still think their best tracks are Drone from the peel sessions and the remix of Lamb's Gold...

Berghain 03
Berghain 03

5.0 out of 5 stars heavy,dark and intense, 23 Jan. 2010
This review is from: Berghain 03 (Audio CD)
So I've listened to this a couple of times now,and it's possibly one of the best i've ever heard...now the mixing is first class, but it's the track selection..all moody stuff, industrial repetition, dark and intense, building and building...alittle similar to radio slave type locked on beats, although alot darker than that..he never rushes the tracks through, letting each carefully selected tune to run it's course and then dropping the next tune just at the right moment..'tis a thing of beauty

only one decent track on here..thats Two of us..all the rest is a kinda awkward, jokey stuff..a collab of Superpitcher and Michael Mayer you would expect alot more..oh well

Ten Years Cocoon Ibiza: Dubfire and Loco Dice in the Mix
Price: £20.36

5.0 out of 5 stars locked on groovines, 15 Sept. 2009
I'm in the process of selling alot of my old dj mixes, because dance music is constantly evolving, changing and the old stuff just get's out of date so quickly. Two of my favourite producers/dj's on this cd so I had to go for it..both mixes are deep down, low down nasty pieces of dark electronica, repetition and great locked-on percussion the order of the day, brilliant head nodding/loose yourself in it headphone listening loveliness..If I was pushed to say whose was better(and why not..alittle comptition never hurt anyone)i'd go for Loco Dice's mix..alittle darker perhaps, great tune selection, never lets up for the whole 70-odd minutes..no doubt in a years time this will sound dated, and things will have moved on a notch or two,but as for now, this is the best make no mistake...... 5.0 out of 5 stars beautiful, 6 Sept. 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Had this on the shelf for awhile now..just got round to watching it..sunday afternoon, closed curtains..Well all I can say it's totally beautiful..the locations, inside and out are absolutly stunning, grand Italian interiors and the beautiful Venice..acting wise it's second to none..sometimes(well,alot of the time)the acting in these giallo films let them down, but not in this one...great story, but don't expect loads of killing/blood,it's all about the plot/storyline..alittle nudity in the begining for no apparent reason, and then none from then on,it doesn't need it,so well done to shameless for bringing this to my attention..now then, where's my copy of Venus in furs...

5.0 out of 5 stars scottish tales, 28 Aug. 2009
This review is from: Waxing Gibbous (Audio CD)
More scottish tales from Malcolm Middleton..excellent as usual..great story telling,on par with Nick Cave's tales, although Mr Middleton is more, shall we say, street, than mr Cave. His melody and arrangments are up there with the beat, but it's just the heart warming feel of his albums that make them/it so special..bet Aiden Moffet is kicking himself........my god, just go straight to Shadows, turn it up and bop round the room....

Fuse Presents Joris Voorn
Fuse Presents Joris Voorn

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally agree, 25 Aug. 2009
This is definatly a 5 star mix..Fuse have been alittle hit and miss..deetron's was/is brilliant..this is alot more immediate than Voorn's balance mix..kinda condensing all the dance floor friendly bit's into this one cd..pure techno, hypnotic, not too brash or fast..a good even pace throughout..standout moment is of course mixing Arthur Bakers..The Break, with Lil' Louis's French Kiss..all the 'right' names are here,Sleeparchive,Robert hood, matthew Dear,Carl Craig etc..think I prefer this ever soo slightly to the Balence mix..altho' I may change my mind tomorrow haha..buy buy buy..don't forget the Deetron mix also

5.0 out of 5 stars Dark,locked-on groove, 25 Aug. 2009
This review is from: Watergate 03 (Audio CD)
Serious business here from Konrad Black..solid throughout, using minimal, tech and full blown techno to keep the groove rolling...builds up beautifully throughout, however crank up the volume from track 10(Ben Klock),because things really get intense from here on in..stand out track coming from Discogs(track 10,Wagon Repair),6 minutes of dark, intense locked on groove, deep and menacing..play it on your headphones or in the car..nice
