4.0 out of 5 stars okay so far, 20 Aug 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
hard drive easy enough to install, the most basic thing to remember is that all hard drives over 2.2tb have to be formatted using GPT and not MBR which is the default, otherwise if you use MBR then you are left with a partition you can do nothing with & wasted space.
The drive was a bit noisy to start with, but after the first day seems to be very quiet, so everything okay so far but will update if there are any problems in the future

this USB SD Micro card reader makes an excellent alternative to the fiddly extender which normally comes(sometimes) with the card itself as most appliances have USB this is an obvious good choice and cheap too !

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent solution for backups, 30 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
previously all my backups were done through external drives, this product you are able to use internal drives which slot into the docking station with big savings for only paying internal drive prices compared to external drives which are more expensive. The one I purchased has two slots which means you can copy from one drive to the other, and of course from your computer drives and they are able to take either 3.5 or 2.5 Sata drives, and older types with an adapter at extra cost. This is a perfect solution to backing up all your photos and data and keep them filed using little space, the other good feature is that if you have an old computer where the drive is not working or redundant you are able to take these drives out and use these to retrieve any data (as in my case when the computer stop working) or use them for backing up. So this product gets full marks, however one slight criticism is that with the instruction manual on the most crucial page of how to set up the new drives, the page was blank! However this was rectified by going onto their website and download the instructions from there . But an excellent solution for backups of all descriptions!

1.0 out of 5 stars very badly made, 23 Jun 2013
I purchased this item for the intention of carrying my camera gear, although very well-balanced and ease of use , and the wheels are fairly robust but that is all you can say about it as is certainly not living up to the standards it should be, it is very flimsy made after a year most of the nuts and bolts have fallen out, it is very annoying when parking your trolley and the front legs fall over as there is no fixing to prevent this happening, so this is a safety issue which should be rectified, and for a name like stealth they should be aware of this, and I would not give this product more than two years life before I have to think about another one but not this particular brand. Not recommended

4.0 out of 5 stars so far so good ,but USB lead too short, 30 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
the drive so far seems to be trouble-free, but these are early days, one small niggle why they could not have made a longer USB lead which would mean that when connected to a desktop it could at least sit on the top, the lead is so small it has to be supported by something while it is copying.
This would not be a problem obviously with a laptop.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great scans not so great to use with editing software, 29 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
After realising when I changed over to Windows 7 from XP I could no longer use my old 2400 scanner to its full capabilities, I purchased the new Epsom perfection V600 photo.

This version is far more versatile for negative scanning as it will take all the formats and if the format it doesn’t fit in the frame you can still lay it as a whole negative, scanner itself does a great job and using the ice technology can turn many colour faded pictures to colour correct the image to its original, or even better. Slide scanning also very good, along with Prints giving good results
However using the thumbnail option, scanner is not always accurate to the edges and often will cut off the end of the image,

The big downside with this scanner has to be its versatility to be used within photo shop, this has always suited me in earlier versions because once you have scanned images you can then do any alterations straightaway before saving them,,but if you have photo shop CS 5 or later this has become now much more difficult, having to download drivers, and downloading 32-bit photo shop programme ect,ect which will then import scanners, and in the case of CS6 then it is impossible to scan into photo shop directly .
Adobe argue that the twain drivers have caused conflicts within CS5 & 6 however I believe that both Epsom and Adobe should build bridges and work together to come to some solution in their software to make it easier for photographers to scan straight into the editing programmes instead of just suggesting using a third party to scan and save, which is just creating a lot more hassle to do and more time if you have a lot of images to scan.
Had that issue been solved then the scanner would have got top marks.

SanDisk SDCFX-016G-FFP 16 GB 60 MB/s Extreme CompactFlash Memory Card - Frustration-Free Packaging

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent product Delivery debatable, 30 Aug 2012
As with all SanDisk products excellent value for money considering I have had no problem with them and use them for many years, delivery is another question, I had two different orders, one I paid extra for quicker delivery (this one) and one standard delivery charge,, no guesses which arrived first.. by two days, so you could save yourself money as it makes little difference when the products arrive... After waiting for this product for several days I would have expected better

1.0 out of 5 stars If you are upgrading, make sure you keep the old model., 8 July 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The newer version of the tom-tom has many more features than the previous models including Street names and a correct lane feature. These are the only advantages.
Re: updating software and maps, it should be pointed out you must have a flash player to run the downloader, this was not mentioned in the instructions and would cause confusion for many, but only on certain blogs is this mentioned.
Once you have gone through this procedure, you then need to update the maps and software, the model that I had must have been on the shelf for a long while as I had to up load a mammoth 2 GB. This appeared to become a nightmare it would not upload and wiped all of the maps of the tom-tom making it useless,so after a lot of configuration I then had to download all over again,( well over 2 hours each time) this time when successful however this has now used 4 GB and if you are on a limited broadband provider allowing 10 GB per month (nearly half) this is a fair chunk, also you are allowed free updates for a limited period, so after then if your maps once again disappear from tom-tom you will have to pay for the updates as there is no backup system of the maps as in the previous models ,(only your personal preferences) you totally reliant on downloading from the website every time .
So if you lose the maps it's advisable if you've got the old tom-tom to keep that one as a backup.
The new cable is another crafty move by tom-tom, it is a normal USB cable, but it is configured in a way how it slots in the back of the sat nav it will only allow that cable being a curved plug , and no other USB cable can be used, again this is done so if you lose the cable and need to purchase another they'll probably charge a hefty premium because they know no other cable can be used.
Whether or not the battery power without the cable when you're driving is better than the old model of Sat nav remains to be seen but if you're driving more than one and a half hours it will run down completly, probably due to the extra features it has to power-up. so keep it plugged in.

yes this has new features and gets one star for that., but tom-tom needs to sort out its updates procedure, and a longer battery life,

5.0 out of 5 stars a good alternative to the windscreen, 7 July 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I found this to be very useful accessory for the tom-tom's made in such a way it will fit easily on most dashboards, unless you are driving around brands Hatch with tight fast cornering I found no evidence to suggest that the mat moves, so a good accessory and would recommend

1.0 out of 5 stars A Canon con, 17 Jun 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The idea after purchasing a Canon ringflash is for generally using with macro photography and consequently the Canon macro lenses, run complementary to each other, so when Canon brought out the new 100 mill macro lens they could not care less for customer satisfaction and instead decided to make the lens barrel bigger so that the present model ringflash would not fit it, and make things worse they expected the customer who was completely stuck,to their advantage to purchase a converter ring to fit ringflash to the lens at an extortionate price, because they knew they got the customer over a barrel, instead of in many other cases and companies providing that extend the ring free with the lens, to add insult to injury with this extension ring you are not able to use the same lens cap, And you need to purchase one of those as well, so this item get the lowest rating possible, however the supplier was very good item is described and delivered quickly.
