5.0 out of 5 stars A TRULY GREAT BOOK WELL WORTH BUYING, 12 April 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This book was purchased after returning from a ten day trip to Istanbul. Whilst there, like most tourists, a trip to the spice market was on the agenda and I purchased several particular spices used in general Turkish cuisine realising that I wanted to replicate several of the delicious meals eaten in and around Istanbul.
This book is really excellent and along with the many realistic recipes contained within, there are a great many location pictures showing a lot of places where we had eaten some perfect meals, these photographs help flood back the memories.
This book does not disappoint, it gives an insight in all the methodology behind Turkish food as well as particular herbs and spices used. It really is a great book and this has become a number one in my kitchen. The recipes are not difficult, most are extremely easy to follow and produce and the replication is made easier because there are so many Turkish shops in the UK that one can buy the correct ingredients.
I have rated this book five star and I encourage any prospective purchaser to have NO doubts, this is a truly great book that you will use.

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS IS THE BEST CURRY BOOK EVER PRINTED, 3 Feb. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is probably the best curry book that has ever been in print, I first bought it when it was originally published 20 years or so ago and so I thought I would get a replacement copy such is the sheer quality of this book, it really is quite inspirational and most of the recipes i have cooked over the years. The magnificent photography immediately makes you want to start cooking.
I have been able to lay on a feast that even my Indians friends have been wowed by!
Get this book whilst it is still available in hardback, it is absolutely paramount that you get the hardback copy as you will use it so often that if you opt for the paperback version it will simply drop to bits in no time through use!

This glorious and long awaited book is compulsive reading, the informative text and remarkable colour photography will have you entranced. This is one of those books you will come back to again and again for reference.
During the eighteenth century, almost the whole of europe was taken with this decorative style known as Turquerie and it takes it's rightful place along with other better known styles such as chinoiserie, rococo and baroque.
Any one interested in interior decorating, history, architecture, fabrics, jewellery, clothing and just general style, should make this book a must for their reading collection.

It is an interesting book combining the architectural history of Vaux-le-Vicomte with spectacular interior photographs and a collection of rather curious recipes, some obviously very old and rather quirky by todays standards. It is a book that I am glad that I purchased as with almost all recipe books, there is at least two or three that can be successfully achieved in ones own kitchen that are different enough to have your guests delighted. All in all I recommend this as one of those books that is interesting and offers more than just recipes and cooking tips, it is an opener to the history of this remarkable Chateau.

5.0 out of 5 stars AN EXCELLENT READ WITH FASCINATING DETAIL, 10 Aug. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Hard Choices (Hardcover)
This book is an excellent read with truly fascinating detail, some of which is slightly nail biting, particularly the part of the book concerned with the assassination of Bin Ladin, which as Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton, along with President Obama had sanctioned.

Hilary Clinton's time as Secretary of State was a turbulent time in the world and this powerful woman steered herself easily through it all, which stands her in good stead to run in the forth coming 2016 Presidential elections in America and hopefully, win and be elected President.

The book is clear, concise and well written, it runs at a gripping pace and in parts, you could be reading a film script for a political thriller.

Overall, it is an excellent American and worldwide PR job and shows Hilary Clinton in the best possible light as the most capable person to be the 45th President of the United States.
