5.0 out of 5 stars Ace! Wipes the floor with the original!, 12 April 2007
I quite like the original. It had it's moments and some very funny one's as well! However, the new one makes the most of the opertunity and ups the bodycount (drastically - YEY) and explores the killer. The original tells you who the killer is and makes out that there is a huge history and legend behind him, but tells you nothing - leaving the viewer (or me) screaming! Who's Billy? It also changes quite a lot. For those who love the old one - this one is worth seeing, you won't be watching the exact same film. Definately worth buying. Enjoy.

2.0 out of 5 stars so so so so stupid..., 10 April 2007
but not in the good way. Like 'The Sweetest Thing' which was wonderful and random, which had a very simple story with scatterings of silliness all over. 'Pledge This!' is just pointless, I usually enjoy films like this. However, it just confused me, the film feels a bit confused itself too. To look at the box, it obviously appeals to girls, packaged in a pink box and with a tiny dog and girls in high fashion on the cover, etc. but throughout the film your shown girl-on-girl action, topless girls bouncing around the screen and various other female orientated sexual activities. not that that's a bad thing! I think that, because it's been made by the creators of 'van wilder' and other laddish humour while having stories that involve naked women. they have applied the same here, but forgot its aimed at girls. oops. I wouldn't buy it! rent it if you must.

4.0 out of 5 stars a.k.a. Shark Attack 4, 9 April 2007
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Shark Zone [DVD] (DVD)
Well... I'm one of those losers who actually enjoy low budget monster movies, always have. One of the best ever, is Shark Attack 3. I bought the first one (i'm afraid so) ages and ages ago. was very suprised to see a second appear on my blockbuster's shelf. The second was way better. Then shark attack 3 came out. This is by the same people, with the same shots filmed from the first, second and third, spliced in to save money. I was expecting more laughs from bad scripts and... well, general silliness. Not as good as Shark Attack 3 (although nothing ever will) but good enough. Give it a try.

5.0 out of 5 stars YAY! All the bits I knew about, put back in!, 14 Nov. 2006
Now, I'm one of the people eagerly awaiting King Kong at the cinema. I loved the original as a child and was very excited to see a re-newed version of the original monster movie! I wasn't disappointed, I wouldn't say I cherished Peter Jackson films. I tend to think he over does scenes a bit and although I agree that the details in films, make them. He focuses on details that are really irrelevant. I think you cold loose a lot of this film and it would still make sense. Scenes like Ice-skating on a frozen pond, a lot of stuff on the boat and some of the senes that try to build up the 'eerie factor' with bit characters like 'Hayes' and 'Jimmy'.

However, I always enjoy the film and now we have an extra 13 minutes. Luckily, there aren't any extra talking. Pure action baby!

The scenes added, are as followed.

One excellent scene is with a Piranadon!!! A enormous carnivourus fish. This is one I was really looking forward to in the cinema, but for some reason was cut out. One thing a bit lame about it, is Peter Jackson's rubbish underwater shots. You can tell the actors been held up to a fan machine, completely dry, pretending to be swimming. Mr. Jackson did this in one of the Lord of the Rings movies. It's just lazy, yet probably cost them more money! The Piranadon is really really really cool though!

Another is a scene involving a Triceratops! Which mangles many of the sailors that ventured out into th jungle to save Anne.

Then there are a sattering of extra bits and smaller scenes that feature - Dodo's, water scorpions, a bit more bugs and a bit more kong. overall, great additions!

I would advise any fans to get this, although they probably already have. This is a very good film before, now its even better! One thing I was disappointed with was the packaging! LAME! come on Universal, do something special! Anyway, Buy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars BUY IT RIGHT NOW!!!!, 8 Sept. 2006

This is a great film, it really is! It's very funny, don't worry it doesn't try to be funny. Its jokes are from geniune every day human reactions. the silly kind. Its not the rubbish humour like '8 legged freaks' or 'evolution' trying so desperately to be funny, but failing miserably. It's a dark comedy horror thats actually funny. It's also very gross, gory and jumpy. Using primal fears of humans to freak you out. There are things you probably haven't seen in a film before! This would definatley be watch a few times. If your not sure you want to buy it then at least rent it! But, I doubt you'll be disappointed.

3.0 out of 5 stars skipped through the album and ended up very dissappointed!, 8 Sept. 2006
This review is from: B'day (Audio CD)
I like Beyonce a lot, so, don't get me wrong! She is a very talented young! However, I'm tired of the fast paced dance songs she does. They all sound too similar and lack a timeless quality, I think she stands out when she sings slower. Listen is the only good track. She'll do more music video's where shes doing that very, very, very unflattering, primal, thumpy dance she favours SO much, They will all have Jay Z in them and will lose interest. Which is a great shame! I love you Beyonce, but at this rate you'll lose credibility by releasing albums and songs without a personal and meaningful touch to them.
OK Album. Nothing really wrong, but nothing right either.
hope you like it

5.0 out of 5 stars Great! But, Where are the special features?..., 30 Aug. 2006
I love Supernatural! It's a wonderful show. In this half of the series the acting is still perfect and the stories enjoyable. the end episode is amazing and will leave you gasping to know what happens next! but, you'll have to wait!

The main thing i'm annoyed about is the special features. America gets the whole series in one boxset AND special features! usually I wouldn't really care, but they have a gag reel. which is the best special feature if you ask me! The UK gets it in two parts. outside they look great! really lovely outer packaging, but inside, the dvds all have them same cover. which becomes a bit confusing. LAZY WARNER BROS. They do it with all their boxsets!

I would very much recomend buying this boxset!!! I just hope Warner Bros. don't release a complete collection after this! that'll just be annoying!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Very Good!, 30 Aug. 2006
This show has a wonderful feel. A mix of 'Buffy' and 'X-files'. Each episode has a different case/story and is set in a new town, like the X-files. With a thought out mythology that Buffy had, and a few fights. The actors are wonderful, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki are completely believable as brothers. Jared being the sensible, but pretty one. Jensen being the wreckless, rugged one, that all the girls (and boys) love.

In this half of the series, it's mostly stand alone episodes. with a few continuations throughout, that refer to the characters, personal journeys. Featuring lots of cameos from stars of cult series. the biggest is Amy Acker (Fred) from Angel, so look out for her.

Overall - I loved it. There are lots of moments when you think, that a blatent rip-off from the grudge or house on haunted hill or jeepers creepers. but, with a little twist to differentiate the two. BUT, DON'T TAKE IT TOO SERIOUSLY. It's fun! The actings great. Effects are really really glossy. and the end of the this boxset sees the start of a side character 'Meg'. who looks like touble for the boys.

THE SERIES IS GREAT, but, Warner Bros. really need to employ a better graphic designer! the box has a georgous cover, but, the dvds have all the same covers. being a graphic designer myself, that is a real annoyance!!! let alone lazy and confusing!!! plus give us some special features!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best!!!, 28 Aug. 2006
This review is from: Charmed: Season 5 [DVD] (DVD)
I think this might be my favourite season! Paige has wonderful red hair, which really suits her. Pheobe has good hair and all the stories are upbeat. This season starts and ends with a double episode. Starting with Pheobe becoming a Mermaid. Ending with the Charmed ones becoming Goddesses! season 5 also see the ending of Cole, but the send him off in an excellent episode!

This series features everything really - Mermaids, Seahags, Gods, Nymphs, Leprechauns, Wicked Witches, Fairy tales, Pregancy, Bad wigs/outfits - the lots. The cast are on top form, delivering some great lines and exspressions! We're also introduced to a new character for season 6!

BUY IT!!!!
