5.0 out of 5 stars TIGER CUB - AN HONEST ACCOUNT OF ONE MANS WAR, 18 Jun 2009
I've read a lot of books both by and about pilots who fought in the Battle of Britain and I rank Tiger Cub up there with the best of them. Yeoman captures the essence Freeborn the man. Honesty and integrity. In using Freeborn's words he doesn't shy away from the colourful language and controvertial opinions so you get to live through Freeborn's war. And what a war. From the tragedy of Barking Creek to Dunkirk and the Battle of Britain Freeborn, was at the centre of many things. Undoubtedly a Spifire ace with some 13 kills to his name, he flew more operational hours in the Battle of Britain than any other pilot. Freeborn is the real deal. This book comes highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE WAY THEY DID THE THINGS THEY DID, 28 Nov 2006
This is an astonishing DVD that showcases the immense talents of America's, ney THE WORLD'S, finest vocal group. THE TEMPTATIONS.

You are guided through their history by the last surviving member Otis Williams. He offers an insightful and heartwarming portrait of the group and their life and times.

Of course it's about the music. And what music. You get 16 performances, starting in the black and white days of 1965 and finishing in the glorious technicolour of the fabulous funky 70s. Everything is here from The Way You Do The Things You Do, My Girl, Get Ready, Ain't Too Proud Too Beg right through to the ultra gritty street funk of Cloud Nine and Ball of Confusion.

Then there'the extras. Audio only a capella versions of 16 tracks, fresh from the Motown vaults. Words cannot describe just how great this segment is. It'll make you smile and cry by turns.

If you only get one DVD for Christmas, get this one.

Fabulous stuff.

5.0 out of 5 stars A LEGEND IN MY TIME, 10 July 2006
American V is a breathtakingly beautiful and heartbreaking album, a truly fitting finale to his recording career.

Cash's voice is strong on some songs and undertsandably shakey on others. It is the frailty in his voice that makes these songs so moving. You believe Cash has lived every word that he sings and when he sings you hear his life in the words. This album is best listened to with someone you love. As Cash sings Loves Been Good To Me and Rose of My Heart you'll be holding each other as close as you ever have. And when he sings the final lines of I'm Free From The Chain Gang Now you'll both have tears in your eyes.

What more needs to be said ?
