engrossing and clever but do we care about the characters?, 7 April 2007
Another engrossing and clever novel from Katherine Bucknell, and yet rather like her previous two, its hard to like any of the main characters much ( maybe thats the point), not even our heroine Hilary and its hard to care too much about their McGuffin ie the art collection. But beautifully written and a compelling narrative. Shades of Iris Murdoch and I think I will continue to look forward to each new 'Bucknell'.
