5.0 out of 5 stars Good interim updates, not great stability, 25 May 2002
This review is from: Office XP Professional (CD-ROM)
Office XP is a mixed bag. If, like myself, you use the products fairly often, you'll notice a few improvements... Most notably, or at least the biggest change I've seen yet, are the new coloured menus...Wow. Well, they're a nice shade of blue. So, whilst waiting for whatever product of XP to crash, you can have a fun time watching these. But don't worry, you won't have to wait long. Sure enough Mr. Crash and Mrs. Lose all your work to the most unstable Office suite to date, will be along very shortly.
I have lost many pieces of work and emails when Word and Outlook (the two products I use most) have crashed. Also, XP noticeably slows down your system. I will be uninstalling XP and going back to Office 2k, which was MS's best office suite.
If you like blue menus, or are still using an old version and cannot get hold of 2k, upgrade. If you have 2k or 97, stay put.

Sony PS2 Console (PS2)
Sony PS2 Console (PS2)

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but with mounting costs..., 28 Dec. 2001
First of all, let me make clear that the PS2 is a great console. It is the best you can get in the UK at the moment, and I am not disputing that. However, even though Sony have reduced the price..., you should be aware that ... is not all you'll have to pay. In order to get it to 'playable level', you will need some accessories, and Sony make sure you pay over the top for them. Eg, if you want to save games, you'll need a memory card, if you have a older TV you'll need an PS2 RF Unit just to get going, if you want to play 2-player, you'll need another controler, and to watch DVD's you'll need a DVD remote. Add to that that fact you'll need at least one game, and you're talking about ... more on top of the console price. Whilst it is a great console, be aware of these extra costs before you buy.

Star Trek: Invasion

5.0 out of 5 stars Exellent, fast-paced Star Trek game for the Playstation, 25 Sept. 2000
This review is from: Star Trek: Invasion (Video Game)
Being an owner of a PC and a Playstation, I thought that the Playstation just could not compet with the PC for Star Trek games. Becasue for a Star Trek game to work you need brilliant graphics, an exellent storyline and fast-paced action.I knew that the PC could provide this, but until now I did not know that the Playstation could do to. Star Trek: Invasion has undoubtly the best graphics of any Playstation game and the addition of crew's voices adds to the already magnificaent game. The gameplay is easy enough to jump right into, although not too easy so you won't get bored with it. The story line is great - you could imagine the same storyline in a film. The game revolves around the Borg attempting to invade the Federataion and you have to stop them using your specially designed fighter ship. Even if fighting the Borg isn't enough for you, you get to fight against the Cardassians, Romulans, Bajorians and few new races as well. This has to be the best game ever released for the Playstation, and I promise you - weather or not you are a Star Trek fan or not, you will enjoy this game! So heres a tip: If you do one thing today - ORDER THIS GAME!

Spectre (Star Trek)
Spectre (Star Trek)

Edition: Mass Market Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars A brillinant book!, 30 July 2000
William Shatner has created a masterpiece with this book. I advise any Star Trek fan to go out an buy this book! To answer one of the questions in a previous review: Spectre is the first book in a trillogy by Will. Shatner. The next book is called Dark Victory and the third and final book is called Preserver...
