Ever After High Madeline Hatter Doll
Ever After High Madeline Hatter Doll
Price: £17.78

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointment, 23 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
At first I was very excited about that doll, but the one that arrived was the first version of that doll.
Her mouth is stern, she isn't smiling at all,- not a hint of a smile! Her eyes are different sizes,- the left one is really visibly smaller than the right one. And her eyebrows have an old newspaper picture / old type comic print to them (as if made of dots).
Pattern on one of the shoes goes weird and far from neat.
Hair is frizzy and a mess.
That doll was bought for display, because I thought that even as it is listed as a playline doll, her clothing and accessories are too elaborate and intricate to play with. It was, hovewer, a disappointment. So if you really wish to have a Madeline Hatter doll, try to get her instore, otherwise, if you care about details, it might be a let down should you receive a different doll to the one advertised on site here.

4.0 out of 5 stars Ariel doll, 19 April 2014

This review is from: Disney Princess Ariel Doll (Toy)
This Ariel doll by Simba Toys is a really nice doll indeed.
However, she is not like a Barbie doll.
Her hair rooting is okay but not great. Her bra easily falls of. She doesn't have many points of articulation. Her legs are of a very poor quality, unfortunately,- they are very primitive, like those alternative to Barbie dolls that they used to make in the nineties.
Although, if you genuinely do not care for things like up-to-date legs and Disneystore-Ariel-doll's-like hair rooting, then I suppose it is a great doll and there is nothing wrong with it.
I knew she would be like that when I ordered that doll on the Amazon, for I have seen Simba dolls before.
Thing is she has got the most movie-accurate face (Walt Disney Pictures' "The Little Mermaid", 1989),- lovely, sweet, young maiden's face. Very much like Ariel in the Disney film. The hair colour is very nice, too.
Accessories are okay. The ring is the best, although the plastic stone comes off easily. The bracelet does not impress, poor quality, plastic gems come off quickly as well, they are very small and may be hard to find if they get lost.
The hair accessories are made of a different sort of plastic to everything else in this set: they are a bit flimsy, but pretty enough for a child to wear occasionally.
The little seahorse comb is cute and sturdy.
The tail (fabric accessory) is rather well made.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant phone cover!!, 19 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The cover is excellent,- even better than what I imagined it to be.
It looks so smart, elegant and tasteful. Apart from that it is very sturdy.
It is utterly amazing for the price.
This is fifth cover for my Samsung phone and is certainly the best out of five. The choice of covers for this type of phone is very limited. They are very hard to find in store. Thus, I had to order them online and experienced disappointment every time I got a new cover for that phone. This time I expected to be disappointed yet again, but instead I was pleasantly surprised what a good phone cover that turned out to be!
The delivery was prompt and the packaging very nice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not as advertised, 19 April 2014

There are two variants of the Cerise doll. The one that was sent to me is the first one, whereas the one advertised is the second one.
It is a gorgeous doll, however. But if one would like a Cerise doll specifically like advertised and got an earlier version, they would be really disappointed, I would imagine.
The two dolls differ from one another, but both models are lovely dolls.

5.0 out of 5 stars Prince Eric doll, 9 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I find this Prince Eric doll the best edition of this character up to date. Much better than (for whatever reason) simplified Disneystore version. Not to mention Simba's edition where "The Little Mermaid"'s Prince Eric called someone, who, as one can imagine, without certain clothes would be completely unrecognizable as Prince Eric for the vast majority of people who has seen the Disney's cartoon ("The Little Mermaid").
Very much like Prince Eric from the Disney film.
Also,- and I find it really important,- this particular rendition of Mattel's Prince Eric doll has got fabric clothes, unlike the other one with molded-on trousers.
Thus, I would say that this Prince Eric doll is a much superior doll to any other Prince Eric dolls that I am aware of.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Madeline Hatter Doll, 9 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Imho, this is the best Madeline Hatter doll out of all of them. Well, I know of three releases so far which include Madeline Hatter.
The first one has got an amazing outfit, a bookmark and a beautiful colour stand and matching hairbrush. However, the first doll's eyes are very lopsided (that varies from doll to doll,- some seem to be more lopsided, some - less). Although some people seem to like it, I find it rather distracting. The lips' tone is much darker in first release as well. Their makeup is different. This one's eyebrows are much neater, too. (I do not know other way of describing this particular aspect, but the first release doll's eyebrows seem to be pronouncedly printed (like illustrations in a comic book type of print).)
At first I thought that the greatest advantage of this doll to the first release' one was the fact that her hands are normal beautiful hands without even though pretty, but permanent gloves. This massively limits doll's versatility, in my opinion.
But what makes this doll even better is her face. By chance I stumbled on a remark stating that someone found that this particular release's face "doesn't suit characters inner madness", something like that. I have seen the YouTube series and find that Madeline Hatter is sweet and more creative, artistic type crazy rather than really seriously mad (mentally ill). What do these people want to see in a doll? They are predominantly play line dolls are designed for children!! I personally find such remarks rather disturbing.
There are more than enough dolls out there with a stern look on their faces, and it is rather refreshing to have a doll that is part of a certain line, and has a sweet-looking face: youthful, kind, really, really nice face. And she's got a lovely figure, too. Neat hair as well. Much "calmer" compare to the first one. I do like the first one as she looks really distinctive and smart, perfect for display, I reckon, and looks so exquisite and amazing, and overall chic and brilliant. But this one is different.
She is light, versatile, wonderful, more play-line doll (rather than predominantly display), can easily accompany you (or your child (depending on whom you are getting her for)) anywhere. She is really gorgeous.
The next release of Madeline Hatter doll seems to be the Legacy Day edition (if you'd like you could browse for the pictures of that on the Internet), where she has (if i'm not mistaken) black molded-on gloves (with solid-white cuffs); the outfit looks smart, fun, though, sort of formal function outfit and there Madeline has got a bright (more evening-type) makeup. (Her hair in the upcoming release looks more like the first release doll's.) Beautiful and elegant she looks there, very smart indeed, but yes, very different to this one.
So this is a very unique-looking Madeline Hatter. She is as versatile here as I would imagine a Madeline Hatter doll can ever be.
As to the stand with hair bands (or whatever it is called) - take it or leave it, though it is definitely quite a sturdy, rather well-made piece of dolls' furniture.
All in all, I find Ever After High Getting Fairest Madeline Hatter an excellent doll.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not like a Barbie doll, 9 April 2014
One night I was browsing amazon and stumbled upon this set. I read the reviews here and almost bought that, but for some reason decided to wait.
Very soon after I saw this doll in a local supermarket and I was so so relieved that I didn't buy her at all. She is not like a barbie. In many aspects.
The quality is very poor (compare to Mattel dolls, such as Barbie, MH and EAH dolls). The pictures here make her look much better than she is in real life. And unfortunately that applies to the baby dolls from this set as well. They are overall alright, it's just their eyes are like you know these iron-on stickers, they don't look painted like Mattel's babies eyes,- that was what really put me off. I was considering buying the set for the sake of having these baby dolls but I am so glad I didn't commit to buy them,- have spared such a huge disappointment.
As much as Mattel could possibly do with some healthy competition on global market for fashion dolls, Simba is no match. Very far behind in development and quality. I owned Disney princesses dolls by Simba, they may be nice and different, however, the quality issue is there and it's so obvious if you got used to the standards Mattel set up.
It is not easy to find nice baby dolls fit for fashion dolls, but in my opinion it is better to wait and get a decent one than get those just for the sake of it. Though, to be completely honest, I daresay that a very young child would probably not see the difference in quality between a Mattel and a Simba doll.
I feel very sorry about the quality of these dolls,- I really wanted to like them, I nearly bought them, looking at the promo images and reading excellent reviews.
Well, anyway, it is of course entirely up to you whether or not you want to purchase these dolls, for surely there is nothing wrong with them if you take them for what dolls they are and not compare them to dolls by Mattel.

2.0 out of 5 stars Simba Cinderella doll's review, 22 Mar 2014

This review is from: Disney Cinderella 12" Doll (Toy)
These dolls have all got different faces and there is every chance you'll get a doll with a different face to the one advertised. The other face is a different shape and expression and if you care about such details you'll be disappointed, however if you are open-minded, then it all is fine. Please, research on the Internet and see that there are other versions.
The other version's face is sweet and pleasant, too, even though different from the image advertised.
The body is that of an early nineties doll and the head won't fit a different body but only of this make. Hair is not rooted very well either. One of the reviewers mentioned the shorter hair at the back of the doll's head. I assume it is supposed to be so. Apart from the shorter hair at the back of the head, the rooting is not that great overall as the plugs are far apart and it limits the doll's versatility.
The shoes do not fit very well and keep falling off as they are a bit too big for her feet.
So if you are not a rare dolls hunter and not interested in this one in particular for whatever reason, and just looking for a present for a child, I would suggest you get a more mainstream one (Mattel's version for example, as the Disneystore version of Cinderella more often then not will have a huge bald patch on her head when the updo comes down).
