The music and lyrics have substance and style, cool to listen to. Would recommend this, and have, to friends. A stand out album from a hard working professional musician.

This book does not disappoint, Furst's writing is a joy to read and the story lines make it difficult to put down until the end.

5.0 out of 5 stars yet another winner from Philip Kerr, 9 Jun 2013

Bernie once again moves through his adventures with a very readable ease. Wartime stories that differ from those of Alan Furst, but are equally enjoyable

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read, 1 Oct 2011

Excellent read, covering a broad swathe through the period in exiting fashion. As is commmon now, historical figures are used and intertwined with the fictional ones.

4.0 out of 5 stars C.J. didn't get where he is today by writing a duff novel, 1 Oct 2010
This series gains in maturity, a splendid evocation of the period, but with a contemporary twist to the language. Shardlake is a lead character with human flaws, but endearing qualities. A warm and comfortable read as the nights draw in and rain rattles on the windows.

Fabulous, without a doubt. The fusion of musical styles and language is perfect in this cosmopolitan time in which we live. I beg you to at least listen to this album.
