Formulaic; formulaic; Dan Brown should not write again., 10 Oct 2009
"The Lost Symbol" follows the same formula as "Angels and Demons" and "The Da Vinci Code" but has an even looser plat and is the worst written of the three. If you have read one or the other of his earlier books then just remember the narrative and move the location to DC. While a quick read, it makes you feel as if time has been wasted rather than spent worthwhile engulfed in a world of great fiction. The references to historical and religious events are even more regular and the author should really be "A whole load of historians + Narrative from Dan Brown". Save your cash and find a real book.
